TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said enemies of Islam are deeply fearful of strong ties between Muslim nations and do whatever they can within their possibilities to stop these growing relations

"The US is afraid of friendship between Iran and Saudi Arabia and seeks for a new plot to create dispute; however, Iran will boost its mutual relations with all regional nations despite the efforts made by the US administration," Ahmadinejad said.

He lashed out at the United States recent allegations about Iran's involvement in a terrorist plot in Washington, saying, "The US has always tried to plot against Iran."

He called the accusations "baseless" and an attempt by Washington to create tension between the two Persian Gulf countries.

"Enemies try to create discord among all nations. All regional and Muslim nations and states should boost their friendly relations and Iran is determined to do so," Egyptian daily newspaper al-Akhbar quoted Ahmadinejad as saying.

As to the deployment of North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) missile shield in Turkey's soil, Ahmadinejad said, "Iran and Turkey enjoy friendly relations. We believe the issue is imposed on the Turkish nation, but it is detrimental to the country and all regional nations."

"Enemies are concerned about the closeness of Iran-Egypt relations since they know there would be no place for the hegemonic powers if they stand by each other," Ahmadinejad continued.
