Glad I wasn't in that boat w/ my wife. I would have spent the whole time calming her down & convincing her they weren't there to hurt us. lol

Amazing video.

If this happens to anybody, be sure to close your mouth and be careful looking upwards

What a beautiful thing to witness. Wish I was there!

Yeah this video has been posted in last two or so weeks. As someone mentioned before (dont bark at me for not linking it)

It sucks how ats revolves around the popular peeps getting all the flags after they post something the little guys already posted yet they get x10 more stars flags and replies.

OP. Thank You so very much for posting this video, I've never seen anything like this before. WOW!!!

The closest I've seen, has been under water, not in the sky, of schools of sardines. To see this in the sky is mind blowing.

Thank You , for giving me the opportunity to experience this beautiful event. It literally took my breath away. I can only imagine what the girl in the boat was feeling.

Somewhere, on the shore, there is a druid in the bush working his magic.

We had the privilege of seeing something like this in person just last week.

Small shore birds were flying like this. We watched for about 20 minutes.

We new that this was one of those rare moments in your life.

I bet they got covered in bird poop.
I've seen smaller groups doing this, almost got hit by a car watching it.
Pretty damn amazing, it was like they were communicating as a group, like a conference or some kind of choice was being made. It just had that feel about it.

Like these birds, it's clearly a message
Birds, giving the bird
Though it looks like it's pointing to me...Whatever it's pointing at, I bet it's awsome.

I think nature likes to keep us guessing like why are they hovering in the formations like that? My guess would be they are feeding on small bugs that we can't see.....mosquitos perhaps since it was over water?

Anyways kewl vid OP!

So glad to see a video like this. It's shifiting shapes and forms like that of the group of birds that tends to really dig deep down into my curiosity of the relevance of patters and such within nature. Also it kind of displays, in some way, the true "free form" nature of the cosmos so to speak.(at least in my opinion)

Good post OP
, thnanks

Thought it would be nice and actually post the link to the real video - not some person on a youtube bandwagon.
vimeo.com...

cheers
I hate those that breach copyright laws.

Personally, I'm just glad my car wasn't at their landing spot. Up where I grew up, the swallow population was out of control - if this was swallows, then where's my shot gun.
