There he stood once again underneath the stormy sky.
Dark clouds covered the heavens. Thunder tore the night.
No one was safe. He was back; only this time there was no one to stop him.
Dr Frankenstein was ready to experiment once again.
There was no time to waste. He called for Igor. There was no response.
Eager to begin, he searched everywhere but there was no sign of Igor, just memories of pain and torment.
As he walked through the castle corridors, he remembered a time when he was younger and would run through them, desperate to create life.
He was back! And that’s all he cared about. It was time to get to work. He needed body parts, lots of body parts.
“Igor”!
The Dr made his way up to the last floor on the castle. There he stood in front of that old thick wooden door. Life was now flowing through his veins.
It was as if he had been born again.
He pushed the door open and walked inside the laboratory.
“Good evening Dr. I am Dr Frankenstein”.
He looked around at a room full of men. They were all smoking pipes. It was some kind of gathering, some kind of celebration.
Who were those men?
“You are mistaken”!
The Dr proudly replied;
“I, am, Dr Frankenstein”.
The men in the room began to laugh, but He could not see the comedy in what he just said.
“I repeat myself gentlemen, I am Dr Frankenstein and what are you doing in my home? You are intruding”!
The men kept on laughing except for one young man standing in front of the Dr, the man who also addressed himself as Dr Frankenstein.
He thought; 'this might be a nightmare'. At some point he would wake up.
“We have brought you back to life Dr, you should feel happy."
Thunder roared. The wolves were howling. It had to be a nightmare!
“You have been dead for one hundred years man”!
‘Incredible’! He thought.
“How do I look?”
The men began to laugh again.
“SILENCE”!
Everyone quieted down.
The young Dr walked up and down the laboratory smoking his pipe.
“Are you my family?”
The young Dr stopped.
“Well of course I’m your family. I’m your great grandson, William. Baron Frankenstein”.
It was all becoming clear now.
He had been dead for a long time and one of his descendants had taken up his work.
He felt proud.
“Where is Igor, we have much work to do. How did you achieve my awakening? When I created life I had to use body parts."
The young Dr puffed away on his pipe, and then walked up to his great grandfather.
“Nothing has changed Dr. You see, Igor will not be joining us tonight because we have already joined him with you.”
The Dr started to feel a little uneasy.
“Are you trying to tell me I am made up of different body parts?”
One of the men stood up and said;
“He’s not ‘trying’ to tell you Dr. He is.”
The men laughed again and puffed and drank wine.
Meanwhile the young Dr took hold of his grandfather and walked him over to a large mirror which stood next to an old Egyptian mummy.
“Look at yourself Dr, it’s amazing what I have accomplished, far wilder than what you ever dreamed of.”
He took off a mask made of cloth he was wearing and stared at himself in the mirror.
“My god”! “I still have my face”!
The young Dr explained; “grandfather, my advancements in the occult gave me the knowledge I needed to complete the experiment.”
He realized that; although he could see his face, his body was extremely large.
“My body, this is not my body.”
The Dr was not wrong. He had been born again.
“This is not your body. The only thing left that remains of ‘you’ is your brain, face and most important of all, your personality.”
Something caught the Dr’s attention, something in the mirrors reflection.
He turned and walked towards the window.
It was the window his lovely Elizabeth threw herself from.
“Elizabeth, where is Elizabeth?” he asked impatiently.
The young Dr took hold of his grandfather’s arm, but he refused.
“Come Dr, you must rest, I’ll tell you everything in the morning.”
He was angry; he looked at himself in the mirror once again and began to feel rage.
“You put my brain in Igor’s body”!
The young Dr looked at his grandfather in pity.
“No grandfather. I took the body of the monster you created. The problem was he was badly burnt. There was no other choice but to use Igor and….”
The Dr stormed up and down the room, then, grabbed his great grandson and lifted him off the ground.
“And who?”! “Who did you use?”!
They stared each other in the eye.
“I used Elizabeth.”
The Dr dropped his demented grandson and started to throw everything around in a fit of rage, anger took over.
The other men ran towards him and tried to stop Dr Frankenstein, but, to no avail.
He killed them all.
The only one left alive was his grandson.
Frankenstein stood over him and looked down shedding a tear.
“I am a monster”! He said.
His grandson laying there in a pool of blood, yelled!
“NO! You’re alive! You’re alive! YOU’RE ALIVE”!
