Well, the next time we all read about corrupt border agents or the lack of any effective control and enforcement along the Mexican border, we need not
wonder beyond this story and a similar one a few years back with Agents Ramos and Compean.
When their own agency and government will prosecute and jail them over how they physically restrain a suspect or how an armed drug smuggler is handled
on the border (when no one in either case even sustained serious injuries), who can expect the U.S. to have very good people working down there?
Who in their right mind would suddenly get up with the fire of applying to the Border Patrol or ICE when these headlines remind you what happens if a
situation gets even a little out of hand, and politics aren't blowing the right direction at the time.
Isn't it funny how border patrol agents can go to prison, of all places for a federal agent to end up...on chicken stuff like this, yet Oakland cops
can fire non-lethal ammunition right into someone's face and still not have any decent and coherent answers as to what happened that night, let alone
talk of prosecuting anyone for anything. Yup..It's all about politics.
I feel for this agent and his family. What a fate for a man who was doing what society paid him for and told him to do. ....and then bill the family
for it. I thought it was only in China where the family was billed for the cost of the bullet?
