I like Ron Paul, I really do, but I don't think he'd be a good president. He's quite old. We've already had Reagan, and this guy could be Reagan II, The Senile.
I'd like to reference Winston Churchill and Charles de Gaulle as far as your concerns about Paul's age. Some things simply get better with age, and Paul is physically active and leads a healthy life (he's a doctor and former military, come on).
I do agree with what he's saying about the Fed, but he's too religious. He's backwards in some ways.
Would you care to clarify these points with any specifics? Unlike a good chunk of the rest of the republicans, Paul doesn't wear his faith on his sleeve and is dead-set on abiding by the dictates of his office, just as he has with his terms in congress.
As far as him being backwards, clarity again (please) - it seems to me that he sees through the eyes of history and clearly understands that some "progress" we've made have done more harm than good, and that getting back to our founding doctrines is the right fix.
I think it's odd, how Obama is a corporate shill, collaborated with the medicare industry while making the healthcare bill, to the point where it's almost identical to healthcare beforehand, but still the media bashes him. No honor among crooks, and the rich, and the political are crooks to the Nth degree.
Obama's no more of a corporate shill than Bush was, and I don't think he gets any more unfair treatment in the media (or other circles) than Bush did, either...as far as politicians: this is why I love the fact that Paul is a STATESMAN. Big difference.
