What a pity...

...i hope they are able to regain control and send up some new code to fire the engine.

We all want to see what the monolith on Phobos really looks like and there will be nothing going there for years after this.

Sending positive waves...

Cosmic..

1. James Oberg is not an engineer working on the mission. He is actually a highly respected commentator/writer/historian etc.. on these matters.

I know , I have been on this forum long enough to know who and what James Oberg is
That's why I used Jims quote in the OP .

As for Jims thread , I wasn't aware that Phobos-Grunt was either Alien or a UFO so I did not check that forum .

I dont believe the organisms were ever intended to be released onto Phobos. I believe all of the space faring agencies have strict rules on not accidentally introducing earth organisms to foreign bodies.

Tell me what you know about the mission plan if I am wrong. Just not their forté, to land and take off with a c communications delay.

Yes the plan was to land on Phobos and collect soil samples for return to Earth , I've found this animation of how the mission was supposed to have worked out .

Onboard will be a Chinese microsatellite to orbit the red planet for a year, but the real star will be the Russian Phobos-Grunt lander, which will touch down onto the surface of Phobos, retrieve a soil sample and return it to Earth by 2014.

Here's a breakdown of the Phobos-Grunt .

Hope that helps

Thanks gortex, I never really looked into the whole flight plan. I was guilty of being consumed with trying to find out if the power source was going to use any plutonium 238, since Russia is the world's leader in enriching it and the US purchases all of it's space probe plutonium from Russia. But a trip to Mars is well within solar array power, but it was mentioned that a little colbalt is on board in the batteries, which don't make them any more toxic.

It would be a very cool mission should they work it out. To see up close the surface of Phobos, and bring samples back for study could provide a great deal of added knowledge about our solar system.

This thread is most interesting from many perspectives and in an effort to add some conspiratorial discussion I will briefly discuss this Phobos-Grunt dilemma and will provide links to support my concerns.

First it is noted that this is a Russian space effort. As such, one has to sometimes see beyond what the Russian Govt. shows you or tells you and then you must on your own do some ciphering of sorts with what they have told us via the international media.

We have been told that a mission failure is creating a decaying orbit with only days before the batteries fail and then a spectacular earth re-entry and some small mention of some tonnage of hydrazine fuel that if not kept warm with those batteries, that the fuel will freeze up and so forth as an initial concern.

Russian media is calling it the most toxic object to crash into earth ever and yet very little talk of what the Russians themselves have said about their own so called mission.

Then there is the acknowledged fact that the Phobos-Grunt was also carrying micro-organisms on board one of the modules because of supposed experiments that were suppose to be carried out.

Then, yesterday, on 11-11-11 there is a world report that the Russians released about Phobos-Grunt that included the grave concern that there is some radioactive Cobalt 57 on board that is also a concern if a re-entry takes place.

Link to article that describes the Russian press release in detail discussing Phobos-Grunt and Cobalt-57.

en.wikipedia.org...

Now with this being said, and with recent national concerns with China and Russia opposed to any USA attack on Iran which would not be tolerated, such talk has even moved Obama to station USMC troops in Australia as a tip of the spear so to speak with military forces that would be used to protect Taiwan from the Chinese forces and or other regional military uses.

With so many wanting to start WWIII, it could be that what Russia has done is show its wild card to the Obama Zionist led administration that Russia has by claiming a failed space mission also positioned itself in a military posture in space to retaliate by claiming a failed mission when the whole story we have been told is a cover story for what could happen next.

We could be seeing the Russian play on the global chess board because that radioactive cobalt-57 is in effect a weapon that is clearly understood by those in the know and the military that such a re-entry and high temperature burn in earths atmosphere as it re-enters would unleash a radioactive cloud that would kill many.

Cobalt-57 as a weapon is called the "Doomsday weapon".

While this is I am sure pretty dramatic to some, it is factual science, so if you dont believe me, you can start with the first link and then do some more research that weapons have been developed around this substance and to include micro-organisms could imply that the Russians are stating to the Obama administration in secret and covert means that any attack on Iran will and or could in coordination with China on some global basis, strike the USA by crashing Phobos-Grunt in the USA or somewhere that would aid the Chinese and Russians while decimating the USA and allies.

The initial explosion or detonation of such a weapon so high in the atmosphere could also create a problem that would most likely be perceived as a nuclear attack.

The discussion about the hydrazine and the failure to mention the Cobalt-57 until Russian media received confirmation from the Russians themselves about the radioactive Cobalt-57 being on board is key to this new concern.

Now with yesterday being 11-11-11 and with many things that did not manifest, one has to question if the NWO is reacting to recent set backs that began on 08-23-11 with the supposed east coast earthquakes, then the 08-30-11 Comet Elenin plasma blast from Jupiter that supposedly broke Comet Elenin into diverting its trajectory and so forth.

Then we have the failed EAS test on 11-09-11 that was suppose to begin events and instead we get reports of EAS failures all over the nation.

These recent media events could imply more evidence of an ongoing secret war that is heating up and if so, this Phobos-Grunt could be part of that grand Russian chess move on the world stage.

In my book, we should pay more attention to this Russian event to see what happens next, since the Russian mission failed, one has to consider that it could have been caused to fail as if from some "External" attack of sorts or we could be seeing the intentional Russian deception of events for the public media, while loudly stating to those in the Obama administration and to the world that no attack on Iran will be tolerated even if it leads to all out WWIII and use of thermonuclear bombs and or the possible use of a "Doomsday" bomb.

Thanks for the thread.
