Yes, I was a part of the Elenin fiasco. I have a gut feeling that is telling me something isn't right and something bad is coming/happening.

Yes, Elenin was a dud. Gut feeling still there. 2005 YU55 is probably the only other thing. Then the Wars about to arise in the Middle East, and finally, Dec 21, 2012.

I have no problems with admitting when and where I was wrong.

Seems you do though. Thanks for your opinion.

Here's the exact article from Examiner

Greg Rinckey, an attorney who specializes in courts-martial , states, “The Army is very serious about prosecuting any types of espionage, or leaks or any type of mishandling of sensitive material.” “The Army wants to send a message to other soldiers that this is not acceptable, and it will be dealt with extremely harshly.”

This is where it gets interesting.

A Federal Security Services or (FSB) report circulating the Kremlin states that the US Military went into a "panic" when a soldier e-mailed his mother to "prepare for the end of the world."

The report states that Millay had growing concerns over a massive military buildup of NorthCom. This buildup is said to include troops and equipment being shipped in from Afghanistan, Japan and South Korea through the Alaskan base and then to "staging areas" in the US.

NorthCom was created on October 1, 2002 after 9/11. NorthCom is charged with protecting the United States homeland in support of local, state, and federal authorities. This support is limited by the Posse Comitatus Act .

AFNORTH would take charge of the situation or event in the case of national emergencies, natural or man-made.

Specialist Millay believed that the redeployment of these tens of thousands of US troops to America was “somehow” related to the November 9 testing of the United States Emergency Alert System (EAS) that is occurring “coincidentally” with a vast number of disaster drills and exercises being planned for the same time period. This was according to the FSB report.

In a series of e-mails to friends and family that were intercepted by the NSA, the FSB reports, Millay warned when asked what to do, "prepare for the end of the world".

Great read, but does it mean anything? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Some of the connections just seem to be connections you're looking for, another poster even pointed something they noticed out, which only further makes me think its a case of looking and not a case of meaning.

Plus, Nostradamus? I mean, I've always thought he was interesting but come on, so many contradictions/shots in the dark, of course things are going to add up, I would be more amazed if none of his prophecies made sense.

Regardless, I'll be keeping my eyes on the sky

This thread was unique in that it just scared the hell out of my younger nephew, then again Mr. Harold Camping did that to my nephew as well.

I don't know if all those numbers "add" up...

I don't know if an asteroid will "whoop" us..

I don't know if I will die tomorrow from natural causes, or if an attacker could kill me, or if a car runs me down.

I Do however know that if and when it is my time to go..all those calculations won't do me a damn bit of good, so I just enjoy my life and live the best I can, and respect others.

A good thread to read, well written even if it leaves people laughing at it. I'm sure I won't need to use it but I'll have an emergency plan for the night of the 9th just in case. All that really consists of is easy access to higher ground, and a bunch of people to gather up, and someone with a car on alert
But yeah, I like the theory - I can't deny the co-incidences. We can all sigh a breath of relief this weekend if it comes to pass though, that's for sure.

who knows?
It has happened before, there is no denying it.

Meteors have in the past impacted earth with devastating consequences, proof exists.
No once can say it will not happen again, no one knows what is really out there the sun and the planets and everything else is no STATIC everything is moving, spiraling out towards infinity at speeds beyond comprehension, everything is on a collision course with everything, have we not understood that already?

What is above so below, things just happen, imagine on a cosmic scale, HOWEVER, that said event will happen tomorrow night well, that is still to be seen!

Cheers!

Well nothing is going to happen. However even if it gets close nothing is still going to happen.

Reason? It can hit us. Wrong angle.

This guy explains it in depth and because he is going to be watching it in the viewfinder of his 24" telescope i'm going to go with this explanation. The flat perspective mapping is wrong.

For all you doom and gloomers, I have used Purdue Universities (the ones who a poster has already stated did the research into what would happen) own impact calculator, Impact Earth to work out what would happen with one of the variables I mentioned, based on the OP predicted impact zone....................

As I said earlier, it will probably start to break up during entry and strike in pieces.....

No-one gets hit by debris.....

No-one gets incinerated.........

No earthquakes (noticeable by population)......

I have stronger wind after a good vindaloo.....

NOW FOR THE WORRYING BIT.....

At 500 miles from the impact zone (which I think is still in the middle of the ocean, going by the OP).....

I then did the same calculation from 1000 miles........

And finally from 2000 miles, which should be about Europe / UK...........

So we could get wet, however, even at 500 miles, there is still plenty of time to make a run for high ground.

So IF this asteroid hits, it's not doomsday folks (and I know thats not what the OP was saying, but some posters are thinking that), but it could get messy for some, but measures can be taken.

Now relax, it's gonna zip by us and most of us won't even notice.

While I commend you for all the effort you put into this which is nice to see on ATS (as compared to all the idiots just making up claims or bogus stories and not even trying to back it up with citations or evidence etc), I'm afraid you expended your energy in the wrong directions. This thing is so full of logical fallacies and wishful thinking that I don't even know where to begin.

You can't just speculate, attach arbitrary meanings to names/phrases/dates as you see fit in order to fit whatever story you're trying to fit, draw conclusions as you see fit and link things together which have no business being linked, and so on. The result is a mumbo jumbo mishmash of wishful thinking and logical fallacies that wouldn't even convince a 6th grade student if he's paid attention in science class at all.

I suggest you go through this website and see just how many rules you've violated in presenting your theory which completely invalidates it to any intellectual thinker. www.skepdic.com...

I think you need to go back to square one and try again, sorry. See you on the 9th, the asteroid won't hit us and we can all celebrate another boring day on Earth and maybe start to worry more about things we can actually do anything about anyway rather than always obsessing over some doomsday future. Thumbs up for the effort though mate. ATS would be a better place if more people put this much effort into their theories/stories/beliefs no matter how valid or invalid the conclusions end up being.

Okay, im about to go on a bit of a rant here but i just cannot stand you trolls any longer
...As for all the people slamming the OP and other supporters...what is ATS? a site for conspiracy THEORIES...now let me ask you, ANYWHERE in the OP did Satori say this was fact and going to happen? No.
Did the OP once say this theory, if it happened, would be an ELE (extinction level event) or even close to one? No. Tsunami's and possible earthquakes affecting the East Coast are the only thing mention in the OP...if this theory did occur, even you trolls you should be able to understand that yes Tsunami's would effect the East Coast. No, thats not implying an ELE.
Furthermore, how many times in the OP did the author state, this was only just a theory and it should be up to you individually evaluate the information and draw your own conclusion? At least 5 times that i can count...
and yet here are you trolls saying, "not possible, bull****, drawing conclusions, hair - brained, strung along, connecting unrelated events, playing the numbers game, DOOM and GLOOM, oh yea what happened with Elenin, blah blah blah...etc" you get my point. all you trolls have to say is Ad Hominem attacks. And that you are right, OP is wrong....well, are you God himself? are you some benevolent force with higher knowledge? i thought not. Well, even you naysayers should understand that unless you are the Almighty, you cannot for CERTAIN discount or prove this theory. Now, i am not a hypocritical person. So yes i acknowledge that the OP can also not for sure prove this theory. Just like you for sure can not discount it. Difference between the OP and you trolls claiming 'unfounded bull****'? Well lets see, the OP obviously has months if not years worth of research and thought put into it. The OP has dozens of valid points, and HUNDREDS of supporting arguments and possible evidence throughout recent history. The OP is a very well written and intellectual,(keep in mind this is only the dumbed down version also) TONS of work has been put into this OP and above all, this theory is possible if not also Plausible. This is what ATS is all about, smart enlightened people making possible connections and drawing plausible conclusions from these connections for others to read about and give their opinions on. THIS should set a precedent of what an ATS theory should be. Well researched, thought out, and thorough. Now now, i have absolutely NO problem with doubters sharing their opinion on the thread. However, Ad Hominem attacks, and just simply stating the OP is fear mongering bull**** is NOT acceptable...Now, im sure my thoughts mean nothing to you trolls; But if you want to earn a shred of respect from me or any other knowledgeable and open minds on ATS, dont just slam the OP and say wrong wrong wrong. I would LOVE to see one of you naysayers reply to this post with even a THIRD of the information and research in the OP that would discount this theory. Will it ever happen? no, i highly doubt it. You trolls are all about slamming others' theories with NO research of your own to backup your doubts...I challenge one of you to make a reply HALF as well put together, thorough, and reasearched as the OP discounting this theory...If you can, i'd greatly respect your opinion that the theory is complete bunk and im sure others would also (: But until then, lets face it, the OP is lightyears ahead with evidence of this theory being plausible than any of you doubters COMBINED have evidence of the theory being bunk. Anyways, Rant over....

As for the OP itself,
Satori you have done an amazing job on this thread. You are a perfect example of what a thoughtful and open ATS poster should be. I greatly appreciate that at no time in your OP did you try to shove this theory down anybody's throats. Instead you remind them to draw their own conclusions based on the information, points, and evidence you presented supporting the theory. This is GREAT work. Do i believe this theory will come true?no i dont. Is it possible? Definately. Is it Plausible? i would say completely and positively. There are just too many coincidences in this information to not be warning of something to come on 11/9. Will YU55 impact earth's atlantic ocean? i cant say. Will there be mass tsunami's? i cant say. Will there be some sort of false flag attack by the government disguised as a natural disaster? i also can not say for sure. The point is, you have a very valid theory here and you presented RIDICULOUS amounts of points backing it up. This thread was an excellent read, and in all honestly it gave me the creeps. Especially, that TIME magazine cover. Just downright scary stuff right there. I do hope that you are completely wrong and all is well on Terra. but this theory has sure spooked me alot more than the Elenin stuff or anything before, there's alot of valid research. Star and Flag for you Satori!! EXCELLENT thread. Great work. keep it up (:

could this sucker hit the moon by chance, and in turn mess with the oceans, instead of a direct earth impact

as stated in OP:

On November 8, asteroid 2005 YU55 will fly past Earth and at its closest approach point will be about 325,000 kilometers [201,700 miles] away," said Don Yeomans, manager of NASA's Near-Earth Object Program Office at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif.

with nasa stating the avg distance to the moon from earth is 238,855 miles

Great post OP, don't think it will happen but it was a very entertaining read!
A lot of strange coincidences, but I don't think they are intentionally related.
S&F for the effort!
