NEWS: Muslims in France Condemn the kidnapping of French Journalists

Today on the Belgian VRT news, French muslims condemned the kidnapping of 2 French reporters in Iraq and the demand of the kidnappers for France to retract the law on the wearing of any religious symbol in French public buildings and schools, this including the wearing of headscarfs and hats.




On television they showed that even the most diehard Muslims in France are upholding this law, in protest and to condemn the kidnapping of the reporters.

One of the people that testified on camera stated:

"We are citizens of France, we are citizens of the world. These people that kidnapped our journalists aren't real Muslims, they are animals."

After this they showed a lady on camera, saying that the people that don't mind to goto school without headscarf are free to do so and for the ones that don't want to remove the headscarf, they have setup sort of private schools where they can still be educated by freelance teachers.

I'm sure their cousins in the middle east, aren't calling them animals.
Kidnappings are supported in koran. They muslims, stating the people in iraq are animals is just contridiction to their beliefs.

It makes me wonder if the Muslims reciding in France feel intimidated by what transpired in Nepal.

Wrong. Gaddafi and Arafat are amongst the many Arab leaders calling for the release of the captives.
Read the news before making groundless comments.

Probably no, I saw them on TV condemning the kidnappings the day before the Nepalese where killed.

This is actually what we need to see more of. Muslims should understand that the face of Islam that most in the west see is not a pretty one, and it's just getting worse. It is up to them to show us that Islam is about more than hatred and violence. It is up to peaceful Muslims to show that they are different than those who claim to speak for them.

Is that fair? Probably not, but it's the reality. If you are part of something, be it a religion, social org, or a chess club, then you are also responsible for the actions of that group. If the group does evil, then you need to either stop that evil from within or make damn sure you disassociate yourself from that group. Pretty simple really.

There are many Muslims who do that every day. You just need to look at sources other than the mainstream USA media in order to learn about it!

That's what's wrong with people nowadays. A whole lot of talk and not enough action. If the French Muslims are so concerned about the kidnappings of the French journalists in Iraq, then they must go to Iraq, and help with the transfer of power there by turning in those who are against the new government there. What the insurgants are doing, is making the whole world believe that all Muslims think alike. It's my belief, that the more Muslims that are there defending the transfer of power in the wake of Iraq's liberation, the quicker and smoother the transfer of power will be. They could become an invaluable help in helping to capture those responsible in the everyday, ongoing attempts to thwart the peace process. There are no negotiations between people that are different in their beliefs and values. Maybe there could be some positive progress in negotiations between those who are less different.
