Given the choice of carrying one of these groups of weapons (like a soldier), which one would you choose and why? The situation could be anything from a diverse group of scenarios, that you could not anticipate beforehand. The only real stipulation is that you intend to defend yourself lawfully for a while.

1st choice:
Assault rifle of your choice
Sidearm of your choice

2nd choice:
Semi-automatic rifle of your choice
Sidearm of your choice

3rd choice:
Bolt action rifle of your choice
machine pistol of your choice

4th choice:
Shotgun of your choice (any action)
Sidearm of your choice

Please specify group one, group two, etc for people that do not know their guns very well.

semi auto Daniel Defense AR-15 for main

Sig P226 Elite .40 for pistol

Already got em! along with a bulletproof vest!

Rocking the same set up as many seals.. only semi auto, but In a SHTF scenario ammo conservation is key!

Choice 4
It's simple, flexible, dependable, easy to find ammo and cheap...

Moss 500 w/ various rounds (including Bernanke slugs for those larger/longer distance targets)

Beretta M9 - eats anything...practically never misfires or jams (open slide design) & you don't even need a mag to fire it...just make sure it's one that's actually made in Italy

Battle Rifle: .308 Semi-Auto Scoped w/ avail. Iron Sites HK91, Fal, or similar
Hi Capacity 9mm Semi Auto Handgun in a cross draw shoulder rig. Glock 17/19, Walther PPS, Sig, or similar

if, 3rd sidearm is available than I would certainly pack a .357 magnum capable of shooting .38's and +P's, Ruger GP, or S&W variant....

I'm not saying that I own all of these listed above, but I don't foresee an issue in this department if SHTF

As a side note I wouldn't be adverse to a Rem 700 if I didn't have the shotty...guess that would be the 2nd choice - excellent dependable & accurate rifle

I like your set up. In a "defend myself" scenario, I'd have to agree with you in both category, and weapon choice. I prefer the Panther Arms brand for my AR, but six in one hand...half dozen in the other, you know?

I truly love the 226, and also pack the .357 barrel...options are nice. Quick easy change.

My thought...why only two? I can easily and comfortably pack an AR (with strap), Tactical shotty w/fold-out stock (on a sling), and three pistols (one on both thighs, and one on vest). Plus tons of ammo, and plenty of other goodies (knives, tools, etc.).

If it was a "survival", and not a "defend myself", scenario, then I would choose my Savage .30-06, Accutrigger, PolyComposite stock, bolt-action with a 4x12 Simmons Optics scope for my rifle. That 226 will still be on my side...that won't change.

I would never want to kill anyone. trust me.. but if it comes to protecting my friends and family from lethal force... I would do what every caring man would do.

Killing is not something I want to do, in my ideal world guns wouldn't exist and everyone would get along.. but we don't live in candy land where fairy's and pixy dust fix every thing. So I own guns because I will protect my loved ones to my grave...

yes, I love my 226, there has been 2000+ accurate rounds through her so far without a single jam or failure, I would like to have the .357 sig barrel. and a .22lr conversion bolt for my M4 for small game meals, this way I don't waste my valuable defensive ammo.

Oh good hell.
An Anti barges into a Gun based thread.

Do you have a choice of firearms to suggest? Or just more Anti crap to retort with.
