Amazing how Nagasaki was bombed killing 100,000 civilians ....mainly women nurturing children, Grandmothers, young children, babies, old men , the handicapped, the maimed..

Not true at all, you ignore "The city of Nagasaki had been one of the largest sea ports in southern Japan and was of great wartime importance because of its wide-ranging industrial activity, including the production of ordnance, ships, military equipment, and other war materials." also it had the Mitsubishi Steel and Arms Works.

It was where also it was attacked before, and while the damage from these bombs was relatively small, it created considerable concern in Nagasaki and many people—principally school children—were evacuated to rural areas for safety, thus reducing the population in the city at the time of the nuclear attack.

The Japanese could have surrendered at any time before the first bomb, or they could have surrendered after the 1st bomb but they refused to.

the choice was theirs....

I wonder really wonder if this hidden desecration of Japans Most Christian city would have been ignored and purged from history.

As the whole world knows about it care to explain how it has been "purged from history"?

The whole world knows not the targetting of St Marys Cathedral, nor the noble history of Nagasakis Christ Disciples.

That only Christian Japanese blood made Japan an acceptable recipient of the laboured over Atomic Project, after the war ended in Europe before the technology was ready.

The end is the end , but the end has many reasons.

That is because it was NOT the target - what is your source that it was the target?

a reply to: Dr Expired "Nagasaki was the city where the Japanese had decided to again expel the Jesuits. The tank farm at Pearl was left untouched in the 'surprise attack'. Jesuit owned, had the tanks been bombed (would ANY attack pilot worth his weight in Saki have left it unmolested?) the ENTIRE Pacific Fleet would have been crippled, open to further attack and would have left us fighting the war in the Pacific from the mainland. Nagasaki's A-Bomb was the 'poison cup' the 'steel of the poignard' 'the strangulation cord' and the 'leaden bullet'. All roads lead to Rome."
