Well it looks like the Catholic Church is making money off pornographic material. This will be just one more thing I keep in mind the next time I hear them proselytizing about sexual immorality.

The strange and hypocritical world of organised religion continues to be exposed. DieWelt, a German news agency reports the following: “Weltbild,” Germany’s largest media company, sells books, DVDs, music and more — and also happens to belong 100% to the Catholic Church. Few people knew about this connection until this month when Buchreport, a German industry newsletter, reported that the Catholic company also sells porn.

So they own a big German Amazon.com type company that sells porn, it's possible they might not have known what was going on there.Could they still have some plausible deniability?

A Church spokesman responded: “Weltbild tries to prevent the distribution of possibly pornographic content.” Well, it’s prevention efforts have apparently not been so successful. For more than 10 years, a group of committed Catholics has been trying to point out what is going on to Church authorities, and they are outraged at the hypocrisy of the spokesman’s statement. In 2008, the group sent a 70-page document to all the bishops whose dioceses have shared ownership of Weltbild for 30 years, detailing evidence of the sale of questionable material.

I guess they could, maybe that 70 page document got lost in the mail.

Knowing some of the history of the Catholic Church this is kind of old hat for them, at least the Pope wasn't the author this time.

Many in the Catholic Church have been corrupt since day one.....however...there are also many Catholics who are good people and they do not participate in such actions.

In every religion on planet Earth....you will find very corrupt individuals using religion as a coverup for their evil deeds....and you will also find sincere people who are good.

The battle between good and evil is all around us..daily...it is just a part of life.

ha ha their flock is exposing their crimes. that just shows that the establishment may be corruptbut not all christians are bad. some still have a conscience.

I know the overwhelming majority of Catholics are good and decent people, but when the people in power pull stuff like this I think it's important to call them on it.

They promote that sex is a sin yet they have all these sex scandal.Hypocrisy to the max.You have to love organized religion.It is a joke for sure.

Personally i'd rather the priests jerk off to porn or go hire whores than them sexually abuse little boys and force faggotry onto them. Oh my Jesus is going to have words with the catholic church when he returns, and if i were catholic i'd be converting to anything other than catholicism. Even the hindu and atheists will look better in Christ's eyes then the Pope and his pervert franchise while he takes the messiah's worship and glorify's himself.

Argghhh another slight at chistianity...I don't know where in the bible it says that jesus or god had to be worshipped in a church...don't think that was the intent..however someone or some people came up with the idea of creating churches to spread the word and at one point force christianity on people...mistake numbers one and two...fast foward today and I don't think Jesus intended on companies making money under the guise of this religion..nistake number three. Bottom line the intent of christianity and the good values of it have been farmed out only to be used for more nepharious purposes..what a shame...and I'm catholic but wtf....one bad priests or one hundred bad priests should not be the end all to a religion..just as one bad italian or two hundred bad italians are not representative of the whole or their values...we could draw other comparisons to other religions or ethnicities but you get the point...

He doesn't have to be worshipped in a church, i worship alot at home by myself. I do it at church too, but you don't have to just do it there. If the first times you worship Christ are when you go to church youre doing something wrong. Youre supposed to lift up your hands and make a joyful noise, you can do that anywhere. Go to a public place and raise your hands and shout "praise the Lord" and watch everyone look at you like you just escaped from a mental hospital still wearing your straight jacket.

Sex is not a sin. Sex outside of wedlock is a sin, and banging your neighbors wife is a sin (adultery) but having sex with your own wife or husband is not a sin. Babies have to be born somehow, the next generation of believers don't magically appear out of thin air.
