A New York woman was stepping out of a vehicle when she was hit by a stray bullet. In shock, she pulled at her stretch pants because they were driven into her leg… a bullet popped out and blood began to pour. She immediately went to the nearest hospital for treatment, and by law hospitals are required to report gunshot wounds. The police arrived to investigate.

Without reasonable circumstances, an arrested party should be able to see a judge within 24 hours. Court ran all week, no circumstances were reported, and yet this woman was held without apology or cause. In fact, she was denied feminine hygiene products and once lost control of her bladder when she was not taken to facilities in time. She was mocked and coerced by police who made it clear she could leave once she changed her story. The problem is, her story was the truth. Somewhere in there it was brought up that she had a warrant for failure to appear, but when it was finally checked out Griffin was again cleared. She had appeared, a clerical error had led to the warrant’s issue. The fact that she had not even had her license run by an officer in the two years after the warrant was issued is also proof that this woman is miles from a career criminal.

During her imprisonment, Griffin claims cops refused to provide a sanitary napkin and she urinated on herself when no one was available to escort her to the bathroom.

I can sense this happens more often, but not told. Many people fear the police and don't want to come forward with more horror stories, but glad she did. Hopefully, this will shed light on other detentions by this precinct. If they done this once, I'm pretty sure, they have done it before.

If you are being held on something like this there is a way to see a judge within a hour or less.

All you have to do is tell any jail officer that you are invoking a "verbal writ of habus corpus"
en.wikipedia.org...
The jail officers must take you in front of a judge as soon a possible.

Just don't do this at 2:00 in the morning as many judges will get upset about being dragged out of bed at that time.

This is like the cops taking you in for questioning. at anytime you get tired of the questioning you can stand up and tell the cops no more. And you are leaving unless they are arresting you.
This stops the cops from playing good guy bad guy or questioning you for hours and hours trying to find mistakes in your story so they can pin something on you.
You will know when you are a suspect and they are trying to wear you down. as they will keep asking the same questions over and over.
Then if the cops do arrest you give the "verbal writ of habus corpus" and you can find out if they have a case at all because they will have to explain why they arrested you in front of the judge.
