Have you tried asking others in your area if they sense it also? Probably not many do and it might not be worth the aggravation. Another thing you can do is write to your local paper. A neighborhood blog or the Editorial, anonymously of course, and describe what you hear to see if anyone writes back saying they do hear it. I tried that 3 years ago when I first started with this HUM and surprisingly only 2 other people wrote and that took months. I don't do social media, but if you do that might be another avenue to take. Also, try contacting NOAA, the EPA and any other government agency you can think of. They'll probably tell you they don't know anything about it or that they don't investigate things of that nature...

I am sure I am not the right person to do that. I am completely agoraphobic which is why I find peace in ATS...ATS is a place for me to report such things where I do not have to confront people.

I just think it's funny how we are both down here in SE FL and we both are hearing similar sounds with no explanation for it. I am chalking it up to ELF's and waves hitting the ocean floor. Nothing new, move along, so to speak. As if this were something that happens every day, it's just that we just started noticing it. It could be that everyone else is just so use to it, that they don't notice. Therefore, it is something normal and we just now became aware of it. That is my scientific/psychological explanation.

When you say "we just started noticing", I'm guessing you don't mean you and I. I have been hearing this HUM since September 23, 2008. I have mentioned that date many times in this site. I became nauseous soon after I started hearing it and a pump at a County Water Pumping Station failed right before I noticed the sound. It was like a wave of energy that came from east to west. The fact that I became nauseous (lasted 3 to 4 days) and the pump failed should be a big clue as to what is causing this HUM. I refuse to believe that no one in the scientific community knows exactly what is causing this. How sad that it just goes on year after year... And many have been dealing with this for far longer than 3 years.

I didn't notice it being stronger today. Then again, I was at a place where all you could hear was the roar of the ocean. Blowing Rocks Preserve, in Jupiter, Florida was really blowing today. If you are ever in this area, it is a place to check out. It is a Nature Conservancy park. I have never seen the ocean so "angry" before. It would have been hard to sense the HUM there.

I have sensed the HUM by the ocean before. By pressing on your ear flaps very hard, blocking your own body sounds, you can actually "feel" the HUM in your head. I know it sounds weird, but you have to try it. This proves to me this is not a sound. You are actually feeling this HUM in your head. Which proves to me it is some kind of an energy. Electromagnetic?

I know i have tried also to convince people it is not a outside source that we hear it is more a internal source,i have tried to block my ears and thought that would stop the sound but to no avail,it just keeps going, maybe one day we will actually find out what it is,Peace and have a great night

What??
You are trying to convince people it is not an outside source that it comes from an internal source?? You are either confused or when you wrote that you were not really paying attention to what you wrote.
The HUM doesn't come from our own bodies. The source is external. Not internal. We hear it inside our brains but it comes from outside whatever it may be.

You are right, i guess what i was trying to say it is really hard for me to determine where the dang sound is coming from,i know it irritates me to no end to figure it out,so if i sounded confused when i wrote that last post so be it lol,it has me in a tizzy

In another thread of mine, (Why is the HUM getting louder/stronger...) I mentioned that I was reading a book about how EMFs affect our daily lives. In the book it was mentioned that we humans have some Magnetite in our brains. I believe that HUM hearers might have more of this and that is why we sense the HUM. The people that just don't have enough Magnetite are not able to sense the HUM. Just a theory...

All we have are theories...

Of course, the Magnetite theory doesn't answer why this HUM exists at all. Only, why some can hear and not all. Is the HUM a natural process or is it caused by people? Is it military related? Which country is responsible? The U.S.? China? Who?
What will be the end result of this HUM?

I didnt get time to read all the posts, because i am sick, but thats not th point.
I wanted to post a quick reply of my on encounters with this "Hum"

Lastnight there was a power outage, for approx 3 hours, from about 2-4 or 5 am.
I was sitting there on my couch having a smoke, and i noticed this faint 'Humming" like there was a bee or
a electric motor by my ear. But it felt as if it came from within, i started to focus on this noise, and i could make it louder, or quieter, what really shocked me was that there was no electrics on. I dont use cell phones anymore. So i have no idea why i heard it, or why i could control it

after months of piece and quiet from 'the HUM' its started up again !
it started up on the 11th November at 2 AM and now today its been none
stop (the 12th nov) my stress levels have shot through the roof!

i cant believe it! i thought it had stopped for good how wrong was i.
i have now resorted to opening the door to the outside noise of the
traffic so it drounds out the humming!

Again it's just like a large diesel engine revving up or a prop plane in the distance
my body has felt the change and so has my brain.
this noise definitely effects the biology of the human body, it's not acceptable!!!! BUT WHAT DO WE DO?

I have been down all the routes possible to no avail its a nightmare.just as i was getting better too.
till now life was back to normal, i was sleeping, i could concentrate, i had no erg to punch holes in walls!

All that has now changed!! TORTURE.

Correct. I meant that us cherries who just recently started noticing it. I meant to say that it is only now that there are quiet times that some newbies are actually able to hear it.

OT, but there is an extremely high-pitched sound coming from within one of my walls in my apartment. I mentioned it to my neighbor, thinking perhaps their fridge was too close to the wall. The most annoying thing is that now that I know it is there, my ears automatically search for it. Perhaps it was there all along, but I never noticed. Therefore I wish that sometimes I never noticed it in the first place.

Another plane crash in my area... Does the HUM or whatever causes it have anything to do with it?
Here's the link to the news:
www.wptv.com...

To the other true HUM hearers: Are there any unusual occurrences happening in your area, such as unexplained plane crashes? People need to pay more attention to real current events. Not reality TV.

I feel I should report that the HUM was pretty strong this morning around 5am. I woke up with a bad headache and noticed it right away. Coincidence? Who knows? It is now 6:25m and it is almost as strong.

Weird thing I noticed this morning also. While getting something out of the frig, noticed the HUM would pretty much go away while my head was inside the frig. So, I guess if the HUM gets really bad for you, open the frig and get relief.

My other half was walking all over the house and front and back garden at 3am yesterday morning trying to find the source of a humming pulsing sound. He went back to bed and got up for work at about 4.30 and the sound was still there.

I was googling "the hum" last night for him and he thinks this is the closest sound to what he heard.
Sound starts at 1:25

Wow, a clip I had not seen before... I think this sound is perceived differently by everyone who can hear it. And maybe the location and the weather also affects it's loudness or strenght and it's resonance. To me, it is not a sound, it is some kind of an energy that we perceive inside our brains near the ear area, so that's why we think of it as a sound. The question is Why????
Why is this even happening? Why can't everyone hear it? Why not just tell us what is going on? Is it so bad, that we can't handle the reason for this HUM? Can't wait for the day when everyone else will hear it. Then they will truly believe this is happening.

Are you sure the sound isn't in your head then? I don't have blocked ears but occasionally, after I've stuck a cotton bud in my right ear, for weeks afterwards I hear a whoosh whoosh whoosh of my own heartbeat. Normally I can't hear it, but when I'm in bed with no other noises around that's all I can hear. Bloody annoying it is too.
