A recent article pointed to by Matt Drudge indicates that a 21 year old student has managed to get within 10 feet of Dick Cheney at the RNC before
being dragged away. Frankly, I don't think this bodes well for the Secret Service's ability to protect either the president or VP from
assasination.

NEW YORK (AP) - A 21-year-old Yale student, posing as a volunteer at the Republican National Convention, got within 10 feet of Vice President Dick
Cheney and shouted anti-war statements before being dragged away, authorities said Tuesday.
A complaint filed Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Manhattan said Secret Service agents spotted Frampton carrying a "Bush-Cheney '04" placard on
the walkway behind Cheney's box at 9:30 p.m. Monday. One agent instructed him to keep moving.
Frampton began to move away, then turned back in the direction of Cheney's box and began shouting anti-Bush administration slogans. He then started
to climb over a low wall separating Cheney's box from the walkway and got within 10 feet of Cheney before the Secret Service agents tried to restrain
him.

When one considers the 'American-Taliban' John Walker-Lindh and other caucasian individuals who sympathize with the Muslim movement against the
United States, one must wonder how safe our president and VP actually are. In this case, the kid was just a protester, but what about next time?!?
Another article linked to by Drudge indicates that additional security lapses are commonplace at the convention. If almost anyone can get in
at this point, could the RNC host the assasination that is to trigger the next wave of Al-Qaeda attacks?
