It seems there is no shortage of doomsday references in almost everything we see these days whether it be on TV or internet. The word apocalypse is almost one of the most common words around here. Whether it be hyped up to sell, or real scientific evidence, we are all in a state of mind in which our imagined doom is hovering in the back of all of our thoughts. Before I get started with my idea of what the current Worlds protests are really about, let me ask a question for you to think about a minute or two.

Would it be better for us if everything did end tomorrow by a surprise "ELEnin" event? Or would it be better to live to see how it all goes down if TPTB are left to play the game out for us? Ask yourself which scenario you would choose to experience? Be honest, now and fully think it through.

I'm not thinking about NWO, or world war three. I'm thinking about the next few Nuclear accidents, the next few Gulf size oil spills, the next few Country size waste lands due to gunfire. 50 years is a long time at the rate that these events are happening today, and I cringe to think of what the world might look like to my 3 year old daughter or her kids.

The earth is being pock marked with places that are either void, toxic or incapable of sustaining life in the way that it has evolved to exist. This cannot be blamed on any certain political party or regimes ideals. This is just humans responding to the laws of nature in a perfectly natural way. It is very common in nature to dominate your environment in the efforts to make it safe for your offspring. "Greed" is a natural response in my opinion, and it is not the enemy. What we call greed is in my opinion just the drive to hoard that which we need to survive. I think, put in the right perspective, we could all agree with what needs to change, regardless of which political party we belong to, or what religion we follow. We have to all agree that we need to climb out of this apocalyptic shadow and into a world which we can imagine working ourselves into a future that is stable and safe enough for all of our children. It is good for humans to try and be effective in the ways of harnessing that which we need to survive, but it needs to be responsibly distributed to the future generations. The key word here is RESPONSIBLY. The answers to the mess the world is in today is not a political one. It doesn't involve some corporate size Robinhood hero, stealing from the 1% and giving it back to the rest of us. What it does involve though, is a state of mind in which we ALL are aware of how we redistribute the resources we took from our environment back into the environment in a way that is RESPONSIBLE to future generations, Plain and Simple... So how do we all get out from under this "doomsday shadow" and back into the "Future so bright, I gotta wear shades." place?

Hell, I don't know!

Okay, but let me tell you how I see this OWS thing thats going on, and how I feel about it.

First of all I have to say that I agree 100% about them not having any particular goal or agenda. I believe that if they stay strong in this idea and fight to keep it as their shield, then it will be hard for other factions to hijack their momentum and use it for their own agendas. We all know what happened to the Tea Party, and if you look deeper, that seems to be what goes down with most other protesting groups around the world.

The goal is to put a magnifying element on the major corporate powers around the world, I believe that is what is going on in a roundabout way. With the catalyst that the OWS movement is creating, we are going to see a whole host of smaller more distinct and designed groups with real goals, and a real direction popping up around the OWS movement, let them affect changes where they see fit, under their own names. There are ideas flying around here in a literal tornado of research, education, experience, whatever. This is a good thing. The debate is hot right now. In my opinion the OWS is a big part of the influx of energy that has caused this.

Let me define the 99% in my own words. It is a rainbow of colors, ethnics, ideas, religions, hate groups, love groups, classes, legals, illegals, businesses, parasites and the whole lot. Yes this includes communism, socialism, capitalism etc, in fact it discludes nothing except those few that hold the key to basically the whole worlds worth of resources.

So those of you who are up here trying to say that "they think this" or "they want that", just know that you are talking about only a select few, because there is no all encompassing idea, only a bunch of individuals with individual ideas all coming together to protest against the irresponsible actions of the "THOSE WHO ARE TOO BIG TO MAKE MISTAKES" crowd . This I believe, is the underlying approach that we as a human family need to come together on, and the OWS and other movements are honing in on that idea.

Let me run with this idea for a minute. I think that we need to switch our thinking process into a place where we recognize that there is such a thing as a company that is "TOO BIG TO MAKE MISTAKES" We need to step up to these companies and let them know that we expect them to act responsibly to our future generations, and that if the people with decision making power in those companies can't make the right decisions, then they will be replaced with people who can, or their companies will be dismantled by the masses, and fed to the companies that are acting responsibly. It is this simple. There is no reason why the laws of nature have to be taken out of it, let the hyenas dispense, they have a key role in the grande scheme of things.

In my opinion, the native americans were the most civilized people to ever walk the planet. I've said this all my life and this is why. Every decision made by the people or individually was made based on how it effected the seventh generation yet to come. This idea may have been loosely followed, but it was a dominant idea that everyone understood, and when someone stood out as one who thought only for themselves, their power was quietly consumed by those around them to the point where they could not harm the rest of the people or the future.

This idea has to become the prevailing idea of the future if we as humans want to expect a livable place for our children. There needs to be no harsh punishments for any one, or any corporation, just a VERY FIRM show of commitment and direction toward these companies on the effects they have on us and the environment. We have to stand up and let each other know that we are ready to start sharing and helping each other learn to become RESPONSIBLE stewards.

The 1% are the stewards of our world today, and we are responsible for making sure that they act responsibly, if it takes sitting on the stoops of wall street to let them know we are watching then let it be. They will get the idea eventually, and we will all be a little more aware of how we got ourselves into this mess, which will be one step closer to getting ourselves out.

Thank you

In the case that this thread becomes one that is debated upon, I would like to pose an idea to those out there on ATS trying to get their point across. If you have strong feelings on an issue, please take them to the appropriate place. If you are against OWS post in places that are against it, you will be closer to those sharing your views. Please ignore those who oppose, and stop arguing

Well I can't say much...just that I fully agree with you.

People against OWS just don't understand what it's all about, and most of them didn't even go there.

I've been there and the main topics right now are direct democracy, non-honorable debt, fractional banking and things like that.

I just hate it when haters come and marginalize/generalize the movement as a stupid hippie leftist movement. This is based out of fear, some people hate change and, let's be honest, this has become a big enough movement now for the government to hire their own internet thugs. I'm not saying everyone against OWS is a disinfo shill, but I know I've come across a few of them. That, or extremely brainwashed people.

The solution does not lie in the right, centre or left. It lies in cooperation, not competition.

What I really like though, is that when the state bullies raided the Occupy Oakland, more people joined the movement the day after.

Is the message clear enough
