Many of our employment woes hail from outsourcing of jobs to cheap overseas labour, as well as entire manufacturing plants relocating there to operate or bring in cheap labour to compete with our jobs.

Those countries that can offer slave workers are poorly managed and have no social expenditure on education, healthcare, etc. Worse are their govs whom are either corrupt or tyrannical, and thus our fellow human brothers and sisters are made to accept their suffering there.

They are used to it, and have no desire for a better life that is accorded to ALL human beings, even for their next generations, for they know no better nor will see better. That is how they are treated. And thus they complain none and will progress none, unlike the western democratic nations workers.

If this is allowed to continue on, our western world workers will soon be starved and eliminated, a waste of social expenditure spent, and mankind never to evolve or progress further, for only cheap low quality goods produced with low technology to remain affordable will be sold to slaves and the rich gets richer daily.

This must stop. National govs must enact Fair Trade laws, and not Free trade enslavement(globalisation), with wages being part of the components for discussions. Slave nations are the only ones who need to fear Protectionism, for they have no human rights issue to deal with and can offer slaves up as workers anytime to bring down competition from quality products nations.

Thus govs around the world must protect their workers from slave nations, or our progress and evolution will end soon.

The lie told by corporations that was used often to justifying cheap labour was that it would lower operating costs and make the product cheaper to consumers.

Unfortunately, that lie was repeated ad nausem till many believed it. The truth is - did that bottle of coke you drank cost cheaper now that it was manufactured in China or had you paid even a higher price today? Or your ipad the same price as an imitation china made junk, of the same material and software?

There answers are NO. Immense profits had been made in the name of 'globalisation'. It did not benefit american workers nor china workers. It all went into the bosses and buddy shareholders pockets.

Globalisation only opened the floodgates to obscene profits by corporations whom had only hoarded their wealth, instead of circulating it. Worse, it impoverished both the american and china workers, and will continue to do so to a stage whereby they can no longer afford to buy anything except junk and constant replacement of junk to keep the elites rich.

This must end. Protectionism no doubt will make corporations and biz owners pay more for their labour costs, and subsequently add to consumers costs, rising inflation. But consumers too are workers, paid more and can afford to buy then, and with money circulated, will progress nations and societies as capitalist enterprises seek out ways to improve their market share through tech and not slave labour.

There is no worry about Inflation if wages and aquired, learnt productivity through tech is kept in tandem, profits shared, at least fairly if not equally. A cup of coffee sold at a motel was probably on 50cts 50yrs ago. Today, it would cost $2 a cup. That's ok, cos 50yrs ago, our grandfathers were only earning $3 an hr. At least now, many are supposed to be earning $15 an hr, but thanks to the puppet leaders we have and China, many are only getting $6 or less.

The only worry economies need fear is deflation, when no one buys anything, too poor to do so, and money is not circulated, as well as if gov leaders still insist on allowing slave labour, internally and externally.

That's funny considering only a Jap company had a war named after it. Because their vehicles were that good that armies favored them.

No one in their right minds would want an American car. Mostly hicks buy those.

Oh, whine all you want. Captalists will simply move elsewhere. Or they don't actually have to. They simply have to do...nothing.

Thanks for your well informed post.

I fully understand where you are comming from, and am fully aware of the pitfalls my proposal will face in the light of 'real world' economics espoused by corporate paid economists.

1. Taxes are a means of inducement, but the bigger incentives are wage costs, which plays a huge component in biz costs and often, the biggest consideration. Taxes, as any ordinary fishmonger knows, can easily be hidden from the IRS, but wage costs is impossible to do so.

2. Comparative advantage is a truism that governs much of economics. It covers broad areas, but then ultimately, at the end of the day, it is humans whom are doing the work. They are not mindless robots, but with the fullest ability to watch, see, and think.

And every human at the basic level is just like you and me, with only common aspirations to live and love - such as justice, equality, progress, prosperity, peace and freedom. Anyone of them missing, and he will start talking to the next guy, and in time, more will be asking why are they in such a state when compared to others.

They are not being greedy, but only to live, and love, in dignity just as any other human on Earth, more so when we are so interconnected today. They too will rise up soon and seek for better incentives. China is a great example, as riots and destruction of properties by non-Union workers are a common sight now than a mere 10 yrs ago.

The sooner we hasten the day for the rest of our fellow human brothers and sisters, the better off we will all be, than to see the constant and nutcase adjustment wild swings by inept corporations and supposed leders dealing with workers dis-satisfactions here and there all over the world, which only results in uncertainity instead of stability in the market.

Sustainable wages and a better if not good standard of living is a requirement for stabilty and growth of economies, if not nations.

Corporations and their lobbyists often claimed that they are supporters of Capitalism, conservative constitution, religion and democracy - elements of right wing idealogy

YET, why THEN are corporations, with support from their right wing elected legislative puppets in congress and parliaments, FLOCKING to and embracing Communist China?

They may claim that China now is a capitalist nation, but Capitalism can only exist under doctrines of Democracy where responsible Freedom thrives in all aspect of life, extending even to the markets, which is why they are known as Free markets in the West.

But China is no democracy today, not even any shade of it for sure. It is not even socialist. The only suitable and logical label for the doctrine that the CCP practises would be 'Feudal communism' - where the few priviledged and corrupt elites rule forever and citizens reverted back to serfdom and fed with BS socialistic propaganda/promises never kept.

Thus, be careful where one's support lays, or our society may well be subtlely reverting back to the delusional 'Divine rule of kings' - Monarchy, the way Qantas CEO is attempting to do by sowing hatred amongst travellers upon democratic Unions by authoritarianly shutting down its airline service, in the hope that Unions would be silenced forever, to achieve his monarchist aims of using serf labour for profits.

OWS did not happen for no reason but for the sake of Free Humanity.

Today, many economists around the world are downgrading their growth forcasts based upon demand for materials by manufacturing and service industries, which is low. Reccessions worldwide are nearing. What is happening?

Say a word of thanks to banks and Corporations. What you see today is the result of their greed. Capitalism is about compettition to be ahead. But corporations, in the interest of their own survival, seeks that there be no competition and will attempt to create high barriers to entry. Cheap labour is one of such means.

Whomever offers the cheapest labour will ensure a company's product be cheaper. When a product is so cheap, entreprenuers will not want to produce the same thing and thus the company have no more competition. BUT cheap labour is a zero sum game.

When one pays slave wages, slaves cannot afford such products. Worse when Corporations with bankers 'globalization creed' support, flee to slave nations to produce goods, leaving their own home talents jobless, whom certainly cannot afford whatever product is made, no matter how cheap.

With such a base, to go cheaper means cutting corners - poor quality or toxic stuff to make up for better materials.

WIth many nations cutting back on spending, focussing on austerity drives, even worse will manufacturing be hit. The poor cannot afford to buy, the middle class are either stretched paying high taxes and inflation or soon to be jobless, the rich hoard their wealth in such worsening climate and govs spend less on material goods.

China offers cheap labour, only because they DON"T give a damn about the 1.3 billion peasants' social expenditure such as health care, education, etc the way the west and democracies around the world protect their citizens. China's CCP gov's liability is only to its own 30 million corrupt commie card waving bootlickers. As long as those bootlickers are kept well fed off the back of the 1.3 billion peasants effort, the gov ensures its longetivity to power.

But it will end soon, for humankind have limits. Our common fellow human brothers and sisters in China aren't taking such BS anymore, and many had already started revolting.

The banks and Corporations are having a good time in China but the gravy train of cheap labour will end soon, and have to end if mankind is to progress and prosper.

In the meantime, as mentioned, say a thanks to the bankers and corporations for the economic wasteland you see in our world today. May those bastards enjoy themselves now, watching others suffering
