OWS has set themselves up to be vulnerable to mis-information.

If you start a movement and say you want to stay disorganized, leaderless, and without defined goals...then you leave yourself open for anyone to say anything they want about you.

You don't have an official "leader" to say that this information doesn't represent what they stand for.


Example...OWS gets pissed when someone says they just want free stuff...but you can go to a protest and find people asking for free stuff. You can't cry about them spreading mis-information when it is verifiable within the movement.

You make a lot of enemies that way....even those that normally wouldn't be your enemy quickly turn into your enemy.


I think OWS has a misconception about how large they actually are. These polls that say 43% support "OWS"...it isn't them supporting OWS...it is supporting the "views behind OWS". But if you start telling these people "you are with us or against us"...then you will quickly lose that support.

The "with us or against" mentality is a bully tactic...and it only works if people are afraid to resist those using it...OWS doesn't have that fear...no one is "afraid" to go against them.

I think it started out disorganized, but now it seems to have been taking a hard socialist turn.
I'm not even slightly down with that.

No they can't. That would destroy the myth that keeps OWS going. There has to be "shills", "disinformation agents" and people out to destroy the OWS movement. The OWS supporters have to believe that these "agents" exist because it supports their belief that they are doing something important enough that they have to be stopped or discredited.
