Hoaxsters and pranksters can seem very convincing. That doesn't make the hoax any less a hoax.

Hoax or not there is simply no way of telling mundane from exotic in these time-lapse pictures. The person did not see them either. Only the richness of colour stands out, there is no visible contrail but then there need not be one.
