May not be the USGS, but it's a start.

Coming from Lima, I can't say I'm surprised. We seemed to get rocked multiple times a year. I hope the casualties are minimum... What region was struck hardest? Any city names?

Yep just received a notification on my earthquake app informing me of this EQ. So many big earthquakes lately. i wonder what region will be hit next???

There was a post earlier about a swarm of small quakes in Arkansas, hopefully not there :S

Wow, this is interesting to see these things happen today, but I really hope everyone is ok down there. It seems as if I saw a thread in the past few days that stated things would start happening at about midday..oh well, I guess the thing to do is watch and wait and be prepared.

Okay, I'm impressed. I was just reading a thread earlier today that said there was some planetary alignment and to watch for earthquakes...lucky guess?

I'm going to fetch my tinfoil now...

I saw that listed earlier, and I admit I had a moment of wide eyed doomsday mindlessness because I had a dream a while ago which told me (someone handed me a peice of paper with it written on it) that an event to watch for as some sort of marker was a signficant earthquake in Peru!
... and well, I've been making fun of the Oct. 28th prophecies and all.. so I had a moment of doubt

But if it is true that Peru gets a lot of EQ activity each year anyway, then this dream was about as meaningful as one about an earthquake in California. So I'll relax and not start a "THIS IS IT! IT IS PROVEN, THE END OF OUR WORLD AS WE KNOW IT IS HERE!" thread.

I hope there wasn't too much damage though! Hope people can find and post footage as it comes in...?

I was looking at the quakes around the pacific last night and noticed lots of 5+ quakes popping up around the rim and said well i think theres going to be a large quake around the rim soon.

Seems they come a few days after a large geomagnetic storm as well.
