What's it to you? Why do you care how this family operates? It's really none of your business and it's FREEDOM that allows this kid to join the Girl Scouts.

I think it's pretty cool that the parents are listening to the kid and honoring someone who is clearly a girl in a boy's body. They are being GOOD parents. I know you think it's disgusting, and you're free to think that. But the Girl Scouts and the parents are also free to do as they see fit.

They ARE following the rules. You just don't like the rules.

Ok where do the lines get drawn? Could a boy join the girl scouts without the transgender issue? Then letting a transgender male join the girl scouts is hypocritical. This is not so much about equality but bending the rules till they are useless.

It is called boy scouts and girl scouts

One is an all girls group the other is an all males group..

Maybe it should be up to a vote by the parents of the girls in the troop? If they accept it or a few don't but the majority does then let (him/her) in? Majority rules at least that is fair and not giving that child into thinking everything including the rules will bend for the one.
But if they took a vote and sorry (he/she) was voted out tuff break try co-ed scouts or start GLAD Scouts?

I grew up in the gender roles myself but I liked Barbie thought she was hot and that it was wrong for me to play with a boy doll…well because I LOVE WOMEN! lol but I would have been laughed at playing with the voluptuous Barbie instead of the Butched out muscular G.I. Joe LOL

Whatever I'll accept the kid being a girl scout, if it means gay kids can be in the scouts.

This child has every right to do what he/she wants. As long as the parents aren't forcing it on them, then i don't see what is wrong with it. The one thing i do see that is wrong, is that there are still primitive minded people in this world who simply find everything disgusting because its different from what they "know".

Which sex you are is not just about what organs you have. Even in NATURE homosexuality is common, wild animals get it on with each other all the time. Just because we are the only creatures wearing clothes on this planet, doesn't mean we can't "join the other team".

The only thing that is disgusting is the insane amount of judgment placed upon this child. Have a problem with trans people? Tough sh*t. Their struggle is something that you are lucky to never know. A kid wouldn't just choose to be a certain way given all of the hardships he or she would face. They are who they are, whether or not other people are comfortable with it. And I hope the Girl Scouts takes this opportunity to change the minds and hearts of parents and other members. This is a major lesson in empathy and human compassion.


btw... What does the barbie doll have to do with this? Most kids color on random things, it doesn't make them "weird".

If people want it to be the scouts then let it be the scouts
where it is combined with boys and girls of all sexual orientation.
Tell it to the girl scout and boy scout commission.
