Cure for AIDS??

It has been quoted in many news articles that there are prostitutes in Africa who are immune to AIDS....

If this is true which I understand it is, why are we not able to use modern gene-therepy to create a cure? (unless they really aren't searching for a cure......)

wow that must be the best way to treat aids....get continual exposures to them.....my theory is they already know this would happen so they arent finding a cure theyre trying to make em more effective so its harder to get rid of

I wouldn't be surprised if that were true... the same happened during the Black Plague in England: milkmaids and farmers that were routinely exposed to Cowpox did not contract the Plague.

The article says they can't even determine how/why they are immune. You can't make a cure if you don't even understand the process.

No, but assuming that scientists actually try to discover what's going on in these immune people, we will be a step closer to the cure for AIDS.
