TENS of thousands of people jammed bus stations and highways to flee Thailand's capital as flood forecasts turned more grim and the first official evacuations were ordered.

Floodwaters bearing down on the metropolis of nine million people have killed 373 people nationwide since July, caused billions of dollars in damage and shut Bangkok's second largest airport.

Its not worth much without proof, but I have had a feeling since i first heard of this looming natural disaster that something big was going to happen.
Looks like things are really starting to heat up for an extremley densley populated area riddled with poverty. Its bound to have very bad consequences.
There have already been billions of dollars of damage and that will surely rise.
My wishes and hopes go out to the people of Bangkok and surronding areas.

There are 10 million nearly there, and I've been so worried as how do you move and feed 10 million easily. The entire city was ordered to evacuate.

10 million trying to leave such a small city at once is a natural disaster in itself.
i wonder how many will stay, im assuming at least 1 mill

I can see it now. Thailand going under as global warming melts the polar ice caps. It is global warming you can bet on it. Save Thailand institute a global carbon tax and use the revenue to raise their sea bed level 20 feet or so.
