Looks more like a bad Peta propaganda video...
Wasting precious qualifying time for a race to save a animal. You have to be pretty stupid to do that. So i say it was a Stunt for some Animal rescue crap group

Yea that or just a guy being a normal bleeping human being. I'm guessing the latter.

here is my take: god threw the calve into the water to boost that guys popularity. if there hadnt been a camera on the helmet, this incident would never have happened.

Already two idiotic comments in this thread? Sheesh, give me a break!

As for the video, awesome. And thanks for sharing.

Great video. It's good to see that some people have a little compassion still.

Also, I was kind of surprised that tying a small strap to his bike held his weight without pulling the bike over, or at least it sliding into the water with him. Maybe something to do with the kickstand.

Jesus, I thought I was cynical...

Ever heard of compassion? A race is more important than a life, even an animal's? I hardly think so.

Wow, there's some hard-bitten folks on here...

you've got to understand:

1) there are a lot of chronically angry people on ATS
2.) everything, repeat everything is a conspiracy, right?

Looks more like he wants to improve relations with the locals instead of being a racer doink.

Now there wont be close lines across the road on race day.

Oh, that is the truth.

The only thing is that some people don’t know anger expressed over the internet is about as useful as a chocolate kettle…

2.) everything, repeat everything is a conspiracy, right?

Yea, but sometimes compassion is just that. Nothing more.

I guess some folks cannot turn off their conspiracy detectors. Must be draining.

I’m still glad the guy stopped to help.

I did get the sarcasm, but in my experience, you hit the nail on the head; there are people who see conspiracy in everything. Even something as mundane as a guy saving a calf from drowning.

These threads always rope me in, and I was just perfectly fine and stable with this one until the guy says he hears the little guy's mama calling for him. Now I'm a water works and debating how many times I can sell this "spontaneous allergic reaction to paper" line to my co-workers.

As a rally racer myself, I can say I'm proud of the guy taking the time to save the calf.
I have given up a certain podium finish at an event to stay with a guy who had crashed and broken his leg, even after the paramedics showed up I helped carry him the mile to where the helicopter had landed.
I think that you will find that people who risk thier lives in sport, are more likely to value it.
That's a nice clip it helps offset the tragic loss of MotoGP racer Marco Simoncelli this past weekend, who was killed at the Malaysian GP.
