My only concern about the fact that Anonymous were the ones to make this raid, is that five years ago, it was the very fact of thier existance that
was responsible for giving some freaks the space and facelessness required to operate various networks across the globe, responsible for the
distribution of a large percentage of illegal web traffic.
I will admit, that in recent times, it has become clear that Anonymous itself does not condone the activities of these twisted individuals, but it
concerns me that it has taken this long for them to get thier act together and move against the rot.
That said, although I have these concerns, I am also aware that Anonymous are the only non government organisation who CAN act against the malignancy
in the web. Its fair to say that governments and thier police and special investigators are competent, and given a high degree of technological
support, but what they lack is inherant understanding of the way certain group dynamics work out on the web.
Anonymous understands the subversive mind better than most , and understands the mechanics of the hidden web because they ARE the hidden web. Why get
a diamond dealer to sell gold? Its the same principal. Anon, by virtue of what they are, have a much bigger capacity to act against internet crime
than governments do, and they have another advantage. They can act without judicial support.
There is one other thing that makes them better suited to the task of cleaning out the deep web than thier government counterparts. It is widely
known that members of the intelligence agencies, and high level criminal investigation outfits in the world, are actualy INVOLVED with child porn.
There was a high profile case detailed on this site a little while ago now.
www.abovetopsecret.com...
This means that theres a chance that any investigation carried out by the feds in the U.S. or the equivalent internet crime units in the U.K. , and
hell , even INTERPOL , may have been influenced by actual perpetrators of these crimes. While its equally possible that Anonymous persons are
involved with the sickness out there, they are as an organisation , more capable of dealing with it than those outside of the subversive end of the
web.
My thinking is this:
If Anon clears out the internet, and does a bang up job, and KEEPS doing it, and outs any members of itself which appear to be involved in traffic
which is corrupted with the degeneracy of child porn, then this may become a very positive change on the web. However, the exposure of one thousand
five hundred usernames will not be enough to deter the real freaks out there. They are going to have to take drastic measures of some sort, in order
to truely fend off the sickos from thier domain.
However, because Anonymous is increasingly a political animal these days, it would seem as if they WILL clear thier own house now, remove the
cancerous muck from thier domains, and then .... I cant wait to see what they do next!
