The only downside to this, if you can call it that, is something that another person brought up in the other thread.

Which is, that maybe they should have just turned all these sites into the police. The way anon went about it, all these creeps are still out and on the loose, capable of hurting children...

But that might not be so had they just turned over their discovery to the cops...

But at the same time, I am glad to see anon do something.... I mean, actually do something... I was getting sick of them just pretending to be a group that mattered, as they did a DDOS attack to inconvenience a website for an hour, every now and then...

So, good for anon.... I just wish they could have gotten more than usernames.... I don't guess much can be done with that...But at least they shut down the sites....

Only thing is, with these loser pedophiles out there, they will just create more sites.....

I'm not sure the authorities have anymore resources than anon in order to capture these people.

The fact is, the way these people operate makes them almost impossible to find. I'm sure there are a few weak links in the bunch, but these sites are typically accessed via multiple encrypted nodes, and splitting packets among them. A Trace route wouldn't be enough to find them. You'd wind up with more dead ends than with hits.

But having user names helps. Because then you can track their activity across many sites.

Well, I admit, I would not know. I am what you might call " Tech-tarded".

Something I find, almost laughable... Well, that is not the right word.... It's just... anon did what the authorities either would not or could not do. Doesn't the FBI look for people like this on occasion who can help find such sites and capture the people involved in running them?

If so maybe they ought to make a job offer to anon...

The FBI usually only scratches the surface. And while they may have only a cursory awareness of these kinds of web services(darkweb/darknet) they simply don't have the understanding of it's sophistication.

Many of these servers are located in places that don't adhere to US law and simply aren't accountable. And since you need to break the encryption in order to know what is on it, the only thing the Feds can really do is wait for something like this to happen, or wait for someone to get careless.

The FBI got lucky on this one.

No where have I said they deserve to roam free, no where have I said they need sympathy. My point is to kill viewers of child porn isn't the right way to go about it. Especially when most of them are young males confused about their hormones or why they are attracted to young girls. Internet porn is designed to entrap the vulnerable. Get them hooked and so on. Same with CP. Actual child molesters need jail time lots of it. Viewers of CP can do with a second chance and rehab. bullets and violence don't fix anything. No matter what they have done.

And that to me presents a big problem. See, I am the last one to even advocate for censorship and government regulation on the internet but here I am, wondering how else to stop such people and such sites....

Some how though, it is surprising to me to think the FBI, is having one put over on them by a bunch of creeps and pedophiles... How is it that they are able to do that? I just keep asking... How are they able to put one over on the FBI time and again?

I don't know the answer...I certainly wish there was a permanent solution to this stuff... But I fear there is not... and that... bothers me.

I am one of those 99%. Some how, it leaves me... almost speechless... I am not quite sure what to say... I mean, I knew there were such sites out there... I just had no idea... they were so " Advanced" for lack of a better word....

I knew it was a problem... But did not quite realize it was a problem of this magnitude... One that, is damn near impossible to really do much about....

At first, when you said you want to take your AR15 and go hunting... I was thinking... Damn... that is a bit... violent... But now... Hey, I am right there with you...

What a surprise a US soldier whose first instinct is to sort it out with a gun. The US navy first designed the TOR network and I am sure you can see why some of us think this is just anonymous propaganda. plus the site hasn't been shut down the servers are just being disrupted. if you read the pastebins you will see that the owner of the site is still going to operate and is paying big bucks to keep anonymous out.
