'Anonymous' Hacking Group Takes Down 40 Child Porn Sites, 'Darknet,' Exposes Over 1500 Users

www.theblaze.com

Users of the pedophile “Freedom Hosting” server had been hiding within the “dark net” corners of cyberspace. The child-porn sites were allegedly run on scattered volunteer servers, making content monitoring extremely difficult. But then, out of the blue, Anonymous announced that it had successfully accomplished its goal of revealing the account details of 1,589 users of the explicit database, and disabled over 40 child pornography websites.

I've been waiting for Anonymous to actually do something about this. One of my biggest criticisms is that they never went after these people despite the fact that many of them hang out on 4chan and other websites frequented by members of Anonymous.

For those of you unfamiliar, places like 4chan have been getting bombarded with child pornography and links to it for quite some time. Making life difficult for those of us who simply want to participate in unregulated free speech. It has kept me from participating in any conversation or any investigation of Anonymous as I simply can't deal with that sort of thing.

Today, my hat is off to Anonymous for making the internet just a little bit cleaner. My investigations into the dark world of the internet tells me that Anonymous and law enforcement have their work cut out for them. 40 websites is simply a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of what is out there. Just one site can have several hundreds gigabytes of child pornography. This fight is far from over folks.

star and flag

internet pedos should also go on the amber alert thing not just convicted sex offenders.

theres prolly a bunch in white house/elite/gov..

how did your title get away all caps?

men, once children ordered to this reform school, talk about being held down face in pillow to be anonymously "deflowerd" by older married men, brutally raped at nine years old till blood runs down legs as some sort of initiation rite, then being graduated as sex toys at adult parties thru to adolescence.

I believe the rules state that one thread can exist in BAN and another elsewhere on the board.

My old man bashed a pedophile that used to live next door to us, knocked him on the floor unconscious with a single hit. Then on the following Monday when the old fella (my Dad) was out the front digging, this idiot taunted him to be chased inside under the threat of a shovel smashing..God knows why that glass door of his didn't shatter but if it did I might not be seeing my Dad free for another few years, even Dad says so and I believe him
Still
to Anonymous, any counteracting of this absolute disgrace is a good step!

That’s sweet to see them going after some real trash that lurks in the darkness!

It would be nice to take out all the users who visit , maintain and create these sites and mostly the persons who upload and create the stuff put on them, but I just cant help but wonder how long these sites remain down? Also if they do remain down how long till a user cant help his urge to see this material and unable to get a quick fix decides to actually harm a child in the flesh?

But glad to see anonymous f’n them up

It is times like these where I have to give deserved thanks to Anonymous.

I've often been fairly critical of the group - but this stands as a testament to the potential Anonymous has for internet vigilantism (and 'real' world applications of the same principle).

However, I do have to caution - power and the opportunity to abuse it go hand in hand. Each case of child porn distribution/possession/etc should be handled on a case-by-case basis. Having had plenty of experience in the world of computers (and the people who use them) - people find remarkable ways to sign themselves up into all kinds of odd things without being aware of it (because computers are magic boxes of voodoo, or something... I don't get how computers don't make sense... but whatever)

My concern over this is how Anonymous will handle the user account information in this and other cases in the future. Will they simply blast it to the masses so anyone can begin their own personal witch-hunt, or how is this going to be handled? Not just now - but also in the future.

Is Anonymous and the concept of E-Vigilantism going to become the very thing it seeks to prevent by foregoing rights to a fair trial for the accused crime?

Or am I the only one thinking along these lines?

No, all of these people need to be destroyed once and for all. I vote they get thrown in to a circle of willing participants and kicked to death.

That's an awesome precedent to set.

"I don't like you. This group of people around you, they also don't like you. We have information linking you to something we don't like and are going to kill you, now."

I'll cede that our current court system does not qualify for "speedy" - and it's not always "fair" - .... but I'm not really seeing the fair trial part of your suggestion.

I mean... if this country was about getting mobs of people together and killing people we didn't like, we'd look like Africa. Not sure how they rank in terms of child pornography production - but they certainly have more child soldiers than we do.

.... Or have we thought this far ahead?

I think pedophilia and rapists offense's should be capital punishment's and any website promoting the practices should be seized and thrown in prision for the rest of their lives.

I do not condone the actions of Anonymous but it's a sad state of affairs when they act when the law enforcement won't.
