It doesn't matter what a court of law says, half of these people are scattered all over the world and their government couldn't give a poop. The point is they got that ass busted, called out publicly and humiliated while having their network disrupted. IF the evidence these types of raids turn up is ignored long enough the people will see it. This is one big step to killing internet CP. Not saying it will ever be done, but nothing was being done before so this is better than nothing.

It looks like several posters here are upset by this.

I... will refrain from posting my initial train of thought about that.

However I can understand the concern expressed in the article - Anonymous may have lifted the rock, but it has no way to catch the bugs.

I agree totally. I have been someone who has previously believed that 'Anonymous' were a bunch of idiots doing nothing productive other than making a nuisance of themselves. This, however (assuming it was them) is, in my opinion, an epic move. Keep doing thing like this and you will change the mind of the rest of the naysayers.

To be honest the antics of annon doesnt impress me.
they come off a hackneyed teenage geeks with no real sense of how the world really works.
Instead of playing footsie with the site owner(if indeed they did) they should have been invisibly tracing the IPs of all the site users hooked into the porn level.
Simply adding it anonymously to the FBI data somewhere would have gotten some action.....

This is what I expect from Anonymous, good job!

I've used Tor and will continue to do so. It's a decent tool for staying somewhat anonymous online. But like everything, you can't expect it to be the end all as Anonymous has now proved. There should be no anonymity for pedophiles online or off. And all the pedo sites on Tor needs to go!

Stop looking at pictures of little kids and you'll have nothing to worry about. Ive had girlfriends since I was 12 and let me tell you, they only get better with age.

All I can say is my hat is off to Anonymous for this take down. It makes me wonder though why the various governments where not the ones to take it down and expose those people involved, I am pretty sure they have the capability.

I find it ironic that they support a free and open web where there no central authority that can audit or censor information, yet they themselves go around harassing and removing content that they deem unacceptable. Clearly child abuse shouldn't be supported, but I would bet everything I had that if the Government tried to target a website where people discuss or even trade narcotics anonymous would be pissed. They are creating their own version of what is right and wrong. Half of the anon/chan boards out there have "loli" sections anyway, full of explicit cartoons. I bet if the Government tried to take down one of those websites they would be like "don't mess with rule 34 man, it's just cartoons anyway". And I'm not saying they would be wrong, a simple drawing should never be "illegal" in any sense of the word. But how can they honestly not see the hypocrisy, they may keep within the bounds of fantasy, but they are still wishing it was real in their head.

19th October 2011 New Registrations reopened... with a catch.

Recently FH was the victim of DoS attacks which resulted in unavailability of php or mysql on hosted sites.

A user registered an account and used it to run extremely slow mysql queries among other things to purposely harm the server.

For this reason we had temporarily closed the creation of new accounts.
As this appears to be an ongoing attack for the forseeable future, we have changed our registration system so that to register an account you must be invited by an existing member.
All existing members who have logged in to their account in the last 2 months have been given 1 invite for each month you have been a member, you can use them to invite others.

Once we have the system setup (soon), if you cant get an invite you will also have the option to pay a one time fee of about $5 payable in bitcoins.

We dont really like this solution, but its the only way we can see for continuing to provide this service in the future.

I would also like to announce that the snapshot based backup system is up and running, backups are made daily and kept for upto 1 month, this will protect against any future data loss due to accounts being hacked.

I'm sure that's how these underground cp networks get there material. F.B.I employee that has access to a "child victim files/photo's" makes some copies, sells the material at a good price to a third party that posts it on there cp network.

and that by no means is referencing Anon as being the good guys, although I do agree with this latest move.

When it comes to threatening government agencies, or orginizations/groups that have power over what they deem justifiable is troubling. Being that I've only read about a limited events in which Anon has shown their power, I can't really say if I support what they do or not.

What I can say though, is that they are on a very dangerous path that will not result in the initiative that they have set forth. Their means of action is not conducive to resulting in their desires being or wishes being fulfilled. They are only adding fuel to the fire, in which we will all burn.

You fight fire with fire, and you get a bigger fire as long as combustable sustenance is present.....well we(humanity) is that sustenance, the fire is our desires... and the fire they fight with is just their desires.

How about a little less fire, a little more love and create the world that we all require that is conducive to the continuance of humanity, and the dissolve of threats to our very well being..... where does this start? well, i would say that it starts at home, at school, in the womb....not in the actions of tainted adults.
