The biggest error of the Classical Maya was that they established their Long Count on the wrong day, making a slight error in their estimate of the duration of the solar year, which ultimately made everyone think that December 21, 2012 was the last day of the calendar when in reality it is October 28, 2011. This placed the classical tzolkin count two days out of phase with the one still in use today amongst the Maya.

What if the end of the world isn't the end of the world? What if the end of the world is the end of the world as we know it?

What if the end of the world as we know it isn't in totality? What if the end of the world as we know it only applies to physical reality, or maybe just conceptual reality (like flat Earth), or maybe even just perceptual reality (like seeing UV light in full for the first time).

Then again, what if it is the "END" of the World?

I mean, heck, i live at the end of the world!

What are we to achieve by remembering it??...If it ends.it ends...if it doesn't ..we all go on with our normal lives.....why worry about some delusional end of the world scenario ??...my BP is high already lol

The biggest error of the.......
...human race is that many will wholeheartedly believe what they are told. Then when someone else comes along, telling them they had been previously told wrong, they believe him instead.

....which ultimately made everyone think that December 21, 2012
EVERYONE???
Nope. Not even close.
Many of the gullible believe that, but not everyone.

If you know what is good for you, you will continue living in fear.

Ahh, Calleman, Lungold, and their crazy, nonsensical calendar. I have covered the many flaws in this "theory" many times, so I'll just leave it up to the expert at this point. So, here is Johan Normark's discussion on Calleman's calendar "correlation."

Calleman's "2011 correlation"

Calleman had to do a lot more than that to create his correlation. For example he had to completely get rid of winals for some reason despite being prominent in many Classic period monuments. He also had Ajaw go to 13, once again for some reason, even though there is no record of this occurring anywhere in Mayan inscriptions. Then we can also look at the fact that Coba Stela 1 alone disproves everything he claims. The sad thing is he actually uses Coba Stela 1 in his "theory" but ignores the important part of it. Even when presented with the facts regarding Coba Stela 1 Calleman ignores them and refuses to comment on them.

Thanks for posting. I understand that you're not making the prediction, just pointing out the error in the Myan calander. Wish others could grasp that... lol....
