A 20-year-old Milford Haven soldier, who broke down as his father was driving him back to his unit for further service in Iraq, was later found hanged from the swings at a village play area.

Gary John Boswell, of 34 Woodbine Way, Hakin, had served with the Royal Welch Fusiliers in Iraq, Germany and Canada since joining up in 2002, the Pembrokeshire Coroner, Mr Michael Howells, was told at a Milford Haven inquest on Thursday.

Before recording a suicide verdict, the coroner heard from Mr John Moses Boswell how his popular young son had suddenly banged his head on the car door and asked him to take him back home.

He had previously attempted to cut his wrists and had also taken an overdose of tablets, but he had seemed happy at the start of the car journey back to camp.

Mr Boswell said his son had never cried in front of him before, but he would not open up about what had happened out in Iraq. "I think there was one man who was bullying Gary," he told the coroner.

It was at 7.15am on Sunday, July 25th, that a motorist driving past Herbrandston play area saw a figure hanging from the crossbar of the swings.

Police found Gary hanging from his car towrope, which had been tied to a fence and stretched over the swings.

The coroner expressed sympathy with the family over the tragic incident.

Yeah let's call everybody with large oil reserves terrorists, bomb them into a a third world state then install puppet governments. Lets let Halliburton and UNOCAL decide our foriegn policies from now on. War on a noun, woot! Death to the terrorists we armed, supplied, trained, funded and created. I bet when they come to draft your son or daughter you will be waving the flag all the way to arlington.

[edit on 27-9-2004 by twitchy]

I dont think I mentioned any terrorists in my quote. Yes, death to the terrorists we armed, trained and funded. As for creation, they created themselves. They sure as hell didn't have the means to defend themselves from an enemy of ours (at the time). Then they slap us in the face.

As far as the draft threat is concerned, I'm in the military (as if you didn't know by the name). The draft is a concern of the weak. People scared to defend themselves. I have family in New York, which by coincidence, were headed to the World Trade Center the morning of the atttack. My responce? Death to Al-Quida and anyone associated, be it by funding, harboring, whatever. There must even be accountability in our own gov't for trusting them.

Let's say, for instance everyone chews bubblegum. I stay in my own home (country) and everyone is chewin' gum but me. Someone from another house likes to come over and blow bubbles in my face. I don't like it, but I don't have gum to blow any bubbles back. You come help a brother out. Give me all the gum I need, show me how to blow bubbles, and I stop people from picking on me. Couple days later, you awake only to find BooBoo in your bed. Come to find out, it was me. I threaten to BooBoo on you again. You also find out other people were puting me up to it. When you called their home I was there, but they said they haven't seen me. Will you wait for me to BooBoo again, or will you come find me? Oh....I got plenty of BooBoo built up. Then....this is the back breaker! People who stay in your house tell you it's your fault.

As far as puppet gov't is concerned, they had that before we came. Saddam held fake elections. He said he had a counsel, but who do you think was in control? Who do you think really voted?

As for oil.....when gas jumps to $10 a gallon, and you can't get to work to feed your family, I better not see you on here complaining about that.

Six Iraqis martyred in pre-dawn US assault on neighborhoods in al-Fallujah.

US aircraft bombed and shelled al-Fallujah Saturday morning according to the local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam. Two US airplanes attacked the city at 4:00am local time, striking the al-‘Askari and ad-Dubbat neighborhoods with cluster bombs and rockets. US tanks took part in the bombardment on the ground as well.

The barbaric assault left six Iraqis martyred and nine wounded in al-‘Askari neighborhood. The martyrs included three men, two women and a child. Most were members of the family of Hamid az-Zawbi‘i an ambulance driver who used to work for al-Fallujah Hospital.

You can tell by the reports that it is one sided.....for some reason everyone is a "martyr".
no more comments......I wouldn't even read into it. Zcheng talks of propoganda, yet posts one sided prints. I have the mind to go to every forum you attend, and refute everything you have to say. This is entertainment for Zcheng....he likes to excite people, and feeds off their resentment toward him. Why post the same print over and over? Just a simple psychological attack.

By the way........as I told you before Cheng.........been to Iraq.......so you are hearing this straight from the horses mouth. In order to cover up deaths you would have to keep it from their families......not a practice that the military would like to engage in. cryptome.org...
DoD www.defenselink.mil...
notice the WIA or for you non-military, Wounded in action......I think this more closely resembles your numbers........no news paper can recieve accurate numbers........CNN doesn't go to Iraqi hospitals nor do Iraqis go to U.S. hospitals.....Common sense. There is no way of knowing who is dead or who is wounded.

Would it be next to immpossible to hide the amount of US deaths being reported from all the links? Soliders come home, and they talk. Im sure many people here have or had friends/relatives over there.

Also I highly doubt the US is using cluster bombs on populated civilaian areas. And kidnapping, I could see why they would but I don't believe they are.

I have no problem with you to trust whatever the government tells you.

There are many others that view 9/11 was a false flag operation not done by the official 19 hijackers.

There are many US people do not trust US government excuse of Iraq war.

There are many doubts the US official line. Whether you trust Bush/Cheney is your personal conviction.

My philosophy is that you need to see reports and reactions of different parties in Iraq to get a clear view of reality in Iraq today. I do not care whether you agree or not. It is your freedom to choose what to believe in.

My information on this thread is for those seeking that mirror and those seeking the truth.

If you believe in whatever Fox/CNN/MSNBC tells you. You have not point coming to ATS, let along this "Enemy" report. Bye

Two local correspondents of Mafkarat al-Islam on Hayfa Street and al-Karakh neighborhood killed while covering afternoon fighting in Baghdad.

While covering the fighting in Hayfa Street two correspondents for Mafkarat al-Islam was shot dead by US gunfire Tuesday afternoon according to a notice posted at 5:40pm Mecca time.

Mafkarat al-Islam announced that correspondent Tahsin al-Janabi, was in the at-Tala’i‘ “Vanguards” Square in the Hayfa Street area when an American Apache helicopter opened fire at 3:30pm local time and struck him in the chest and abdomen, killing him instantly.

Twenty minutes after the martyrdom of al-Janabi, ‘Uday at-Tamimi was shot dead by a US sniper. The American bullet struck at-Tamimi in the head and he died instantly. At the time of his death, at-Tamimi was entering Hayfa Street from the north.

At the time the Mafkarat al-Islam notice was posted, the bodies of the two martyrs for truth were still lying on the streets, their blood mixing with that of the bodies of three children and one woman who were also killed by US snipers or Apache helicopter gunfire. At the time of the report, no one has been able to approach the bodies of the martyrs because of ferocious US sniper fire.

The third correspondent in the Hayfa Street area reported at that time that the Resistance was fighting back with equal determination. Resistance forces killed at least 13 American troops and left others wounded. Three Iraqi puppet intelligence men were also killed by Resistance fire. One US Abrahms tank and one Bradley armored vehicle were disabled. At the time of the report, US Apache helicopters continued to prowl the skies looking for victims, firing violently into the neighborhood, shooting at anything that moves.

Three Resistance fighters have been martyred in the fighting, the remaining correspondent wrote at 6:40pm local time, but the fighting continued.

Martyr correspondent Tahsin al-Janabi was 24 years old and was among the first in his class in the College of Political Science in Baghdad University.

Martyr correspondent ‘Uday at-Tamimi, 26 years old, was a graduate of the same college but came out two years before Tahsin. Neither man was married.

Mafkarat al-Islam reports that it has a total of 12 correspondents in Baghdad alone. The martyrs of Tuesday afternoon bring to nine the total number of Mafkarat al-Islam correspondents killed since the US invasion of Iraq. The website further announced that the editors had repeatedly appealed to the remaining correspondent in Hayfa Street to get out alive as the fighting continued to rage with unmatched intensity, but the correspondent refused to leave.

The Free Arab Voice salutes these martyrs for the Truth and the liberation of the Arab homeland and extends its condolences to their loved ones.

Two quick points.

1) There is no way to operate a country this large, especially with the policy we have across the board respectably. We wield a great amount of power and power is not sought or gained for no purpose besides using it.

So to trust the government to do what is right for you at this point is idiotic at best.

2) There seems to be the idea that there are only two types of people in Iraq. Victims and brutes. The Victims are those who we want to "liberate", and the brutes are completely stupid, unfalteringly Muslim (and will die for any inane cause for Allah), and can only get brute force through their thick skulls.

This is by far the most oversimplistic thought I have ever heard. To think that only in America is there diversity (by a wide margin at that) amung the people. Furthermore, I'm sure that people (especially family men and women) are not willing to die for no reason.

To be willing to die for what you believe in is what founded this country. "But we wanted freedom from oppression and rule from afar". Seems pretty similar to me.

Enemy's War Reporting

Well, since the US media has suddenly decided to stop reporting on the war in Iraq, and my paid subscription news sources don't like to be duplicated, I offer you the only war reporting I can find on the Internet, courtesy of Al-Basrah.net and Islammemo. I mean, go to Google.com and look at the news, you would swear there is no war going on. The only mention of anything is about the two Italian girls being released.

Bye

You have already made your decision. Don't preach about having a fair and balanced view, when your agenda is clear. The "Enemy" account is your account.

Two quick points.

1) There is no way to operate a country this large, especially with the policy we have across the board respectably. We wield a great amount of power and power is not sought or gained for no purpose besides using it.

I agree, but this is where state gov'ts come into play. We should be more concerned with who governs our state, then confront the issue of presidency.

I also agree. So do you believe that we should free Saddam and let him back into power, or let Muqtada al-Sader into power by leaving Iraq? I want to know your opinion. Can you and Zcheng come up with a solution?

Do you know how many civilians killed in Tibet this year? Your arguments is so lame, and does not even warrant a refute.

Do you?

A Chinese national who claims that he knows what is occuring in Tibet (a country under total military lockdown) does not even warrant refute.

For the first time since the US invasion: Resistance bombardment and assaults force US troops to evacuate base south of Baghdad. Local people swarm in to witness burned out remnants of defeated American hordes.

Iraqi forces pounded US troops in their base in base in the Ridwaniyat ad-Duwaylibah area of Mazra‘at ‘Uday south of Baghdad Wednesday morning inflicting such severe casualties on the Americans that for the first time since the US invasion of Iraq, the US troops totally evacuated their base.

The Americans left behind numerous dead as well as smashed cars and armored vehicles. The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent in the area visited the inside of the reclaimed US base with the first wave of local people to visit the facility - a visit that took place at exactly 6:45pm Wednesday night - only fifteen minutes after the last American soldier vacated the premises.

The correspondent saw 14 Humvees abalaze inside the camp, with nothing left of them except their wrecked chassis. Four amphibious armored vehicles were also completely on fire. The correspondent also saw the Americans’ tents that had been reduced to ashes by the flame.

The correspondent wrote that it appeared that the US base had been shelled by some sort of chemical weapons, since a green tint was noticeable on the ground in the area of the camp. This was a sign that a chemical warhead had been used, as was previously noted in attacks on the al-Hadbah camp and in Mosul and ar-Ramadi that were hit by Resistance chemical shells some months ago.

Later an Iraqi Resistance martyrdom bomber detonated himself amidst the fleeing Americans inflicting further damage on them. The correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported three US amphibious armored vehicles were driving away carrying crowds of US troops on the ad-Duwaylibah - Sadr al-Yusufiyah road when the booby-trapped car drove into them, killing at least 15 Americans - a number likely to rise.

Thursday, 30 September 2004.

Resistance attack devastates meeting of top US occupation commanders with leading collaborationist tribes. 25 Americans, 27 Iraqi puppet troops said killed in massive blast.

At least 25 US troops and 27 Iraqi puppet “national guardsmen” and puppet policemen were killed in a massive car bombing that targeted a secret meeting of the occupation forces’ command with leaders of collaborationist tribes in Abu Ghurayb. The local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that a Russian-built Zil blew up in a massive explosion in the area where the secret meeting was under way between an Abu Ghurayb complex building and a building belonging to the puppet “national guard” (“ACBC”) set up and run by the US aggressors.

Forty US and Iraqi puppet troops backed by 10 Humvees and six Bradley armored vehicles were guarding the place where the meeting was behing held.

The local correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the car, believed to be carrying about 2 tonnes of explosives, destroyed the two buildings, making it likely that the US commanders and collaborationist tribal leaders were all killed, since none of them came out before the massive explosion occurred.

Body parts of the dead were strewn over a wide area around the site of the massive explosion. One member of the Iraqi puppet forces estimated the number of dead at 25 Americans and 27 Iraqi puppet troops.

According to the correspondent, some sources report that the explosives used in the blast came from ordnance that had been unfit for use, but that the Resistance had managed to modify it to work.

In addition to the target buildings, several local buildings were also affected. Prior to the blast, however, the Resistance warned people in the area to leave their homes, particularly since the area in the proximity of US and Iraqi puppet facilities is a permanent target area for the Resistance.

The operation demonstrates that the Resistance has succeeded in penetrating the Iraqi puppet security apparatus, as the Resistance was able to pinpoint the exact time and place of the meeting despite the thick veil of secrecy that enveloped it.

Massive double car bombing kills 39 Americans including CIA agents.

Twenty-one Americans were killed around noon on Thursday when an explosives-laden Opel car detonated in the midst of a column of US troops on the highway to Saddam International Airport opposite the al-‘Amil neighborhood to the east and the Ibn Taymiyah Mosque to the west.

The correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam reported that the American column had been made up of GMC cars, of the type used by the American intelligence agencies, which were being escorted and guarded by several Bradley armored vehicles and Humvees.

The massive car bomb killed 21 Americans when it blew one Bradley, three of the GMCs, and three of the Humvees to pieces.

Then as the Americans were putting the remains of their dead in plastic bags, a black car appeared on the scene in the midst of the troops and violently exploded killing 18 more Americans and destroying two Bradley armored vehicles and two Humvees.

In his dispatch posted at 2:45pm local time (1:45pm Mecca time) the correspondent of Mafkarat al-Islam wrote that the Americans had encircled the area amidst fears that a third bombing might occur. Three Apache helicopters were patrolling the skies above the area of the attack, combing the district for potential targets.

A CIA helicopter that the Iraqis call a “Ghazal” landed snipers on high buildings in the area dressed in civilian attire and equipped with sniper shells.

In a report posted at 3:45pm Mecca time (4:45pm Baghdad time) the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent wrote that fierce fighting had broken out in the agricultural area between Abu Ghurayb and al-Karmah after the double car bombing in the area on Thursday.

Details on children’s deaths in the al-‘Amil bombings.

A Resistance organization has placed the onus for the deaths of 25 Iraqis, including 21 children, on Thursday upon their families who failed to respond to repeated warnings by the Resistance.

Leaflets circulated in al-‘Amil before sunset Thursday that blamed the families in the area for the deaths of their children who by chance were in the vicinity of the American column when it was targeted by two Iraqi Resistance martyrdom bombers, killing some 40 US troops.

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent, who visited the scene of the attack immediately afterwards and spoke with local residents, confirms that the US forces for some three weeks had been accustomed to using local children as human shields. They would throw out cheap candies, sports balls, and extremely cheap tee-shirts as they passed through the area in order to attract the children to the military vehicles whenever they came through the area. Today they did the same thing, as has become their practice, and as a result a large number of children gathered around the US Humvees and armored vehicles that had come in for an American celebration of the reopening of a heavy water treatment facility that had been build by the Iraqi government under President Saddam Hussein, but wrecked by the US invasion.

Further evidence that this is true came from an American Associated Press (AP) report that quoted a 12-year-old boy, ‘Abd ar-Rahman Dawud in hospital after being injured in the blast, as saying, “the Americans called us, they told us, ‘Come here, come here,’ asking us if we wanted sweets. We went beside them, then a car exploded.”

The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent reported that the Iraqi Resistance had been warning civilians for more than a year against approaching the US troops, because the latter are always a legitimate target of the Resistance. But in particular, for the last three weeks the Resistance in the area had been particularly reiterating these warnings to local people since families were not heeding the Resistance instructions and were allowing the Americans to make use of their children as shields.

The urgings of the Resistance took various forms. Warnings were issued in local mosques. Leaflets were circulated among passers by in the street and were posted on walls. The Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent learned that starting Wednesday the Resistance made another concerted effort to warn the local people once again not to expose their loved ones to danger by permitting them to approach groups of US troops. Again leaflets were circulated and instructions given to preachers in mosques to implore the people not to approach the US forces.

Of course the Resistance could not specify the time and place that the attack would take place, the correspondent noted.

Many local residents now regret ignoring the warnings of the resistance. Some tell of a tall, slender stranger who vigorously scolded the children for getting near the Americans just a half an hour before the blast. Other witnesses told Mafkarat al-Islam that the driver of the first martyrdom attack car was obviously shocked to see the children on the scene, and he therefore started firing warning shots quickly into the air but the incident happened so fast that few had time to react before the blasts took the lives of at least 39 US troops in addition to the 21 children, two mothers and a youth who was hanging around the children, and one man who had a heart attack as a result of the shock of the blast.

Informed sources also told Mafkarat al-Islam that an American general was to attend the celebration about the water station, but was saved by virtue of the fact that he was late for the ceremony.

This was not the first use of human shields by US forces in Iraq. Just several days ago US troops on Hayfa Street in Baghdad. American forces were retreating out of the district with Resistance forces in pursuit until they reached the area near the so-called “green zone” when a US officer kidnapped a child of seven and threatened to kill him if the Resistance fighters approached any closer. When the fighters failed to respond quickly to his threat, the American officer killed the child in the car he was driving.

In addition the US troops have taken to capturing and interrogating small children on a regular basis in an effort to gather intelligence on the Resistance fighters.

The Zionists also have widely used local people as human shields in their wars against the Palestinian and other Arab people, the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent noted.

One of the Humvees taking part in the search was then ambushed by the Resistance who fired C5Ks and rocket-propelled grenades at it destroying the vehicle and killing four men aboard.

The correspondent reported in a dispatch posted at 4:05pm local time (3:05pm Mecca time), that the Americans had sent three F-16 fighter bombers and four Apache helicopters out to take part in the search for the captured US troops.

The area of at-Tarimiyah, essentially an agricultural region, famous for its date palm groves, is about 230km. The palm trees grow in thickets to be about eight meters tall and can provide good cover for hiding tanks and captives.

The Resistance fighters are likely to destroy the tanks, since despite the natural cover, keeping them when the area is surrounded and under search is extremely difficult. This is particularly true since the vehicles are equipped with satellite tracking equipment. The fact that the helicopters as of the time of the report had still not found the tanks, however, indicates that the Resistance fighters were able to deactivate that tracking system.

As to the captives, the Resistance might either execute them or enter into secret talks with US commanders for their release in exchange for the release of Resistance fighters held prisoner by the Americans. The latter took place during the US siege of al-Fallujah in spring 2004, when the Resistance secured the release of more than 250 Resistance fighters who had been captured by the Americans, in return for the release of US officers.

In a later report posted at 4:45pm local time (3:45pm Mecca time) the Mafkarat al-Islam correspondent wrote that fighting had broken out in the area north of Baghdad as US forces continued their search for 10 captive American troops and two Abrams tanks.

Reliable sources told Mafkarat al-Islam that 22 military personnel were killed and 45 wounded in the blast - Americans and Iraqi puppet troops. No more precise breakdown of the casualties by nationality was available.

Body parts were collected from all over the camp where they were blown by the power of the enormous explosion.

The most recent operations of the Iraqi Resistance indicate that they have taken on a highly organized and coordinated military character, as revealed in the two car bombings aimed at US and collaborator targets earlier Thursday. The latest attack on the base in at-Tarimiyah appears aimed at smashing US efforts to supply and reinforce the search for the captured American troops.

Puppet “Iraqi national guard” hit by wave of resignations in protest at continued US presence in urban areas.

Authorities in the Iraqi puppet administration have disclosed that the commander of the Iraqi puppet so-called “national guard” and a large number of soldiers in the force in the city of ad-Dulu‘iyah north of Baghdad resigned on Thursday in protest against the continued US presence inside Iraqi cities.

When their force was set up by the Americans, the understanding was that the US troops would pull out of the downtown areas of Iraqi cities, to leave those areas under the police control of puppet Iraqi officials. But given the rising intensity of the Resistance, and the tendency of the Resistance to infiltrate the puppet forces, the Americans have been unable to extract themselves from any of Iraq’s cities, except those from which they have been driven forcibly.

Reuters quoted Maysim Muhammad, a member of the city council of Balad in the Samarra’ area as saying that “Captain Ziyad Ibrahim Khalil al-Jabburi, commander of the ‘national guard’ in the city of ad-Dulu‘iyah resigned from his post on Thursday.” He added that a number of the soldiers serving under him also handed in their weapons and resigned. One of those to leave said that 60 officers had left the puppet service.

That's a #load of combat.

Considering there's almost no mention of how combat is going in Iraq through Western media, though we know it's going, I think there's something fishy going on.

A Grad is a 122mm rocket. Chemical weapons used in attacks?

Obviously, if Western media is candidly reporting the reality of Iraq, does anyone think that Bush/Cheney will have any chance of re-election?

Truth is first casualty of war. You need to search for it, since most of them are cleverly covered or hidden.

I convey the"enemy" reporting, you decide on what is closer to truth. I believe US people will eventually know the truth, just like Vietnam. With the power of Internet, those seeking truth will find it when do searching and using their brain. If you are waiting in front of TV, you are doomed, and will be fed with whatever lies PTB like.
