With any crater in general the dispersed lunar crust from the impact settles in the middle of the crater. However, in this case, the bubble formed seems to be too large and symmetrical to be natural. If it isn't natural than it is artificial, and if it is artificial then it is either a product of extraterrestrials or ourselves.

There are two current explanations for how the formed:

1. Volcanic: magma pours into the crater from impact fractures
2. The walls of the outer rim crumble or slump in forming the center feature

The leading theory is volcanic in origin but NASA is still debating their formation.

The latest theory is that the impact area contained layers of different density causing the feature seen.

Only two explanations is pretty limiting inside box thinking - and wishing by naza!
Great examples of maybe what I'd say a THIRD explanation (or fourth or fifth) - created by "others".

While we are at it and while my man crush on zorgon only strengthens - lets talk about some of those bizarre craters we see on zee Moon!

Still wanna know about rotating a flat pic as if it's a 3 d object.

Step 1 Open picture in any photo editor
Step 2 Select Rotate 90 degrees
Step 3 Hit enter

Not sure where you got the '3D' from

Hex..... errr

HEART

But seriously I think Mars must be the planet of love while Venus , all full of acid rain and lava, sounds more like the planet of hell...

The PINK coloration? Don't blame me... blame Malin Space Imaging

My favorite crater has to be Eve's Apple...

Yup I can just see all the squirming skeptics rushing to explain THOSE being natural

WOW
Watching the video, you can even see the reflection of the crater wall in the dome

YEAAAA Zorgon!
It's good to see you back

I watched the video, and it appears that you can see the reflection of the crater wall in the dome.
Your thoughts?

Well yes, black dragon, congratulations. Your infinite wisdom has shown us that there are other craters, even on Earth.

But I do not see a glass dome in that one... so please DO try to focus on the OP of this thread and show us another crater with a glass like dome..

Thanks

Nor do I see a "glass dome" in the OP.

I'd probably find it easier to focus on a photo that was in focus enough to resolve such imagined detail.

If that is glass, clear glass, whatever is underneath would be fried to a crisp once the sun was overhead, so it is possibly impact glass, or a 'bubble' from when the moon was young and volcanicly active.

glass on the moon is 10X's stronger than steel on earth. thats why the monuments there where constructed of it. All of the Apollo missions to the Moon captured stills using super ektachrome film.

Common knowledge - everyone knows this, right? I remember learning this in 5th grade.

How the hell would you know this????? What a load of BS.

the physical impurities prevalent in the earths crust are not present on the moon. thats is in fact where silicon dioxide comes from.

ah ,

I was wondering when another one of these would pop up .

I believe the first person to make such a statement on this site was John Lear , im sure that data is still on this website somewhere so ill have a look .

Zorgon knows alot on this subject .

Mega.

There is no dome on the moon, you see what you want to see. And those caves, craters or holes are naturally formed.

I've been looking at this photo off and on as I stumble across this thread, but I cannot for the life of me see how it looks like a glass dome. Just looks like a normal structure to me.

So it is your expert opinion that structures are normal on the moon?

Interesting

Not getting away with it this time....not funny enough, actually.

Structural Geology applies to "selenology" too!!

And, Job Opening: Assistant Professor of Structural Geology

So....don't have to bandy about the term "structure" with only one meaning.....anymore.

FANTASTIC!!! Finally we get the real video. Glad to see you finally came around

Now this video by Buzz Aldrin makes sense

"The Chinese think beyond that... and they ARE planning to go back to the moon.."

"...humans will be back on the moon... they will speak Chinese"

Now if Buzz doesn't know... who can we trust?

PS Buzz is also senior science advisor for Gravwave LLC a company doing gravity research with the Chinese

So this clip of yours is very good evidence
