I believe that Carlos Slim resides in Mexico... More than likely he is who is the Shadow and the story presented of another character with the name Freestein is intended to redirect unwanted attention from him.

His yacht, the "Bodminium II" doesn't exist. The photo they are using for it is actually a 525-foot (160-meter) yacht named the "Platinum" which was recently renamed the "Dubai". It is owned by Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai.

He was also obviously not the founder of Starbucks. That company was founded in 1971 in Seattle by Jerry Baldwin, Zev Siegl and Gordon Bowker. They took the name of the franchise from a character in Moby Dick.
