Painted in the colours of the new national flag, the behemoth, with its pointed prow and portholes, bares an uncanny resemblance to a battleship. Clad in concrete sandwiched between steel plates built onto a bulldozer, the unwieldy contraption was created in the workshops of Misurata, and is designed to protect National Transitional Council fighters from sniper attack. ''This is a bulldozer, we have developed in a way that it is armoured to defend the forces inside and it is capable of wiping out sniper positions on rooftops of buildings.'' said one anti-Gaddafi fighter wearing a naval commanders hat. The heavily armed vehicle is manned by four gunners who have five heavy machine guns between them as well as a tank gun mounted on top.

This thing is pretty inventive and 100% badA$$. I freaking want one. Anyone remember the 'Killdozer' awhile back? This is pretty similar though I doubt as well armored. Always neat to see what people can come up with in a crunch.

Probably not too well. I would imagine an RPG would destroy that thing.

Reminds me of that show "Battle Bots" that came on Comedy Central years ago, except bigger. I don't think I'll want one. My ultimate "don't mess with me" vehicle is the T-72. Still not a bad display of ingenuity.

I think the rpg would erase it, they were designed to destroy real tanks so why not a fake one.

I wouldn't mind a T-72. That or an aircraft carrier fully manned and operational.

I think it would handle snipers just fine too. It does look pretty sweet at the same time, enormous flag on the front. A little goofy and a little intimidating.

I would say that the vehicle is by the looks of things fairly well adapted to the task to which it has been set. If they wanted this thing to be RPG proof also, they could do worse than using a concrete mix with a combination of steel and iron filings in it. The reason for this is that once formed , the skin of the vehicle would then be as blast resistant as a safe room in a bank. These are widely known to be made of one of the hardest construction materials known to man, and the ingredients for such things are widely available.

I for one found this very impressive, and agree that this shows incredible inventiveness in the face of what is quite a terrifying prospect, that being a snipers round through the face. What it ALSO does, is serve as a propeganda vehicle (literaly) because the damn thing is painted all the way around with the new national flag of Libya. I have so much respect for what the Libyan people have managed to do. When you consider the size of the weight upon thier shoulders, and the forces which arrayed against them in the begining of this rebellion, you realise the sheer scale of thier massive steel balls. Maybe thats where they got the metal to clad this amazing vehicle!
