Every half an hour or so a new thread is created about what OWS is doing wrong.

Most of the time it comes from people here who say that they are targeting the wrong place, saying the wrong things, letting in the wrong groups, and not acting in the way they should.

Maybe it is hard for them to find exactly where to throw the stone, but they have gathered together something I never thought I would see in my lifetime.

Truly take in the scope of this, it is a historic event. Honestly when I first joined this site I would neveer have imagined that peopel would be protesting on Wall street, it really amazes me to think that that is happening.

So to those who complain about a movement not doing something the wat they think it should be done, perhaps instead of complaining about their methods, you should start your own movements, obviously you are passionate enough to know what you want and expect.

To those who think they should be protesting at the whitehouse, go to the white house and protest.

To those who think they should be prtesting at the supreme court, please go there too and protest.

To those who say they let in the wrong groups, start your own protest group and resolve not to let them join.

To those who complain of their lack of leadership, step up and become a leader.

I'm still waiting for OWS to get to the creating solutions part.

i think its just disinformation campaigns that contribute to this. and ofc msm. (the obvious answers)
i moved to canada from usa in 08 and i really hpe for the best for my country. but alas the people are powerless.
i think 50,000 ppl storming into the fed would be better than these ows protests.

Well to be honest, its not their job to creat a solution. Why would it be, they are just pointing out the problem, it is up to everyone to make solutions.

Why depend on them, you could solve the problem. Create a solution...

The method and solution is the same. Bawl like child long and loud enough, and eventually someone will come along to change the diaper, give a binky, bottle of milk, etc.

There's a new thread every half an hour about what's being done wrong in everything. If you make a thread about doing something right, someone will tell you that you're wrong. That's just the nature of the people.

What is being said is, if you think they are not doing it right. Why don't YOU get off your butt, propose a solution and go about making that solution come to fruition?

Do you not think it is just a bit on the hypocritical side to stand here complaining that they are not creating any solutions, when you, by your own admission, are not willing to do so yourself?

While I agree it is high time they get organized, start working on goals and solutions to the problems they are pointing out I feel I must point out, at least they are pointing out the problems.... You are just sitting here complaining about the job they are doing.

I would be curious to see, if you could do better than OWS has. Or would you prefer to just sit on the sidelines ( read behind " Hide behind your monitor" ) and just take shots at OWS when in reality, they are doing much more than you are, and probably much more than you ever could.

They say, if you want it done right, you have to do it yourself... Well, you say it is not being done right, so do it yourself the right way! Step up! Come one, I dare you to get out from behind your monitor, go out there, make your own protest, set your demands and goals, create the solution!

Something needs to be done and if OWS can't do it, sitting around saying they can't surely wont help! How about you be the solution!

Don't just wait for one to magically appear!

Peace and love. I am off to do some writing for a guest spot on a blog, so I may not be here to reply for a while. Feel free to laugh at me and my words. I don't mind.

But hey, at least I am doing something to find a solution.

I think the real problem is that people are limiting themselves to what is there instead of what could be there.

I guess it is said "it is hard to see the forest for the trees"

I truly don't understand why people aren't starting their own protest in front of the whitehouse or supreme court if thats where they think they should be.

My previous reply, can be addressed to you as well. If you don't like the way things are being run, why don't you lead by example? Come up with a solution and put that solution into motion.

Or would you rather just sit there and bad mouth OWS and not really do anything?

Okay, NOW, off I go to write that guest spot for a blog that I was asked to do.

Peace and love

When did I admit anything of the sort?

The answer to this criticism is always "Well what are you doing?"

I'm doing what I think is right.

Now again, when is OWS going to come up with a list of solutions to the problems instead of having it's proponents, like yourself, look down your nose at anyone who criticizes your ineffectual and aimless little movement?

It's getting really annoying having to defend oneself for asking questions like "What is your purpose and direction". And no one can come up with an answer. All you people do is deflect because you know as well as I do that you're not getting anything done but throw a tantrum for the world to see while blaming rich people for your problems.

Great thread. its so true. OWS as already gave some remedies, people just find something wrong with anything they say, The 2 remedies I know of are,,

1. Reinstate Glass -Steagel
2. Eliminate Corp contributions..

Now you might not like these solutions, but they are there for all to see. Like it or not. If you don't like them like the OP said what's your solution ?

I've heard almost no-one mention glass steagall.

I have. In post after post. And the OWS people call me a fascist in return for not standing with the socialists and communists that are tolerated in these rallies.

I suppose it's not that much of a stretch to see why they are supported as the majority of their adherents are far left: www.abovetopsecret.com...

Besides, they have stated time and time again that they don't want reform they want revolution.

What's annoying is repeating one's self ad nauseam, and having people still claim there is no clear OWS message.
The message is plain, the message is simple, however the list is long. Why is it long? Because there are a great many problems with this world, and fixing one, only allows for another to take its place. The problem isn't Washington, the Courts or Wall Street. The problem lies in those who occupy these places (pun intended); anyone with monetary, corporate, or political power, who abuses this power for the purpose of personal gain. These persons must be removed from said power, allowing the people to regain control of their government once more, and as was intended. The system is broken, every tooth on the cog corroded, and this nation, this planet cannot be fixed until this cog is removed, and completely replaced.

The message is out there. The agenda is clear. If you still don't know what it is, or choose not to accept it, then you are part of the problem.

Bro Just go down there, They are some great ideas going on down there, If we could just get Glass Steagall reinstated this would take care a lot of the corruption that is taking place. I also don't hate rich people or Corp America I made a small fortune on these company's.. Its the rip off the banks are perpetrating everyday is what is killing our economy. If me and you could Mark are assets to anything we want we would make billions to. Not to mention the carrying trade..

Sorry, but I am still looking for some tangible, realistic ideas from this group. It's easy to point out what is wrong; its not so easy to come up with a tangible and workable solution to the problems. The OWS group has been hijacked by wolly headed socialist who don't have a clue on certain issues.

They need to come out with a list of proposals and ideas that can be massaged. Years ago in Canada, a new political organization came about called "The Reform party", and they had grassroots meetings with local folks, who put together "the blue book" on what they wanted.

Not all the ideas were workable, but it was a start. They got political representation, and ran candiates. Within 10 years or so, they were forming the official opposition in Parliment. They eventually merged with the Conservatives, but, they did make their mark and have an influence. The present PM in Canada was originally a "Reformer." OWL is so far from this, they cannot be taken seriously at this point.

And the OWS people call me a fascist in return for not standing with the socialists and communists that are tolerated in these rallies.

What I find funny is that most people could not even define what a socialist or communist actually is or what they actually believe in. Socialism and Communism, simply put, are other theories of governance. Do they have a black mark on their reputations/ Yes they do, as does our beautiful democratic republic.

So OWS "tolerates" them at the rallies....who cares? They are not trying to turn our government into a Marxist state ran by Nazis socialists who want to eat your children and kill your dog!

What you have done in many OWS threads is continue the cold-war and 1950's style of "fear the commies" rhetoric because it is makes it easier for you to dismiss OWS as a crackpot movement and allows you to stay on the couch, instead of joining in on the process.

"Reform or revolution"......6 of one, half a dozen of the other. Call it what you want. Disagree if you want. But at least come up with something a little better than "Oh crap! Their commies!"

The reason people point out what is wrong is because they really don't have any goals except protest. The only way they are gonna get anywhere with this is by gaining more support from the rest of us. See I think someone is pulling the strings from the shadows. Protest Wall St; yeah thats fine I guess but how come there hasn't been any Occupy D.C.? Do they know how many of our representives became millionaires after getting into office? They are exempt from the same rules on insider trading that are suppose to get others thrown in prison. Someone did a thread on it 6 or 7 months back with a list of both repub and demo that made their fortune.

Well project and ward are examples of main points.

As for project he believes that because OWS is protesting the fact that something is wrong, they should have all the solutions figured out.

It is a complicated issue, and just because they know it's wrong but don't have solutions, why should that stop them from showing their concern on the subject.
If people waited until they had solutions for all life's problems befor raising questions on problems we would get no where.

Ward is saying there should be a Occupy D.C. not Wallstreet, then I say to ward, why don't you start a Occupy wallstreet? If that is where you think they should be, start that movement.

You make some good points, your right were not represented at all anymore.. Ok for some that have not seen the remedy's here is a good start..

Reinstate Glass steagall
Campaign fiance reform
Audit the fed.
Make the banks mark there assets to market
No more carrying trade for the banks

Alright how is that.. We need a strong Corporate America, its just as to be fair. right now these Big banks get privileges and the middle class pays for it all..
