U.S. pulling all troops out of Iraq by the end of year

Just saw the Obama press conference where he stated that he was removing all US troops by the end of the year. The question I'm asking is, are they doing this because the conflict in Iraq is truly over, or are they doing this because we are likely going to be involved in a new conflict with Iran? Thoughts?

We are just going to replace them with more contractors and mercenaries, so don't expect spending to decrease.

This is nothing but a political ploy for re-election, we'll be back.

I can definitely see that happening. Obama did mention that they were looking to protect their "interests" in Iraq....I wonder what that interest could be...
