Hey guys,

My family has volunteered to host a foreign exchange student from Japan - but we just found out she will be from Fukushima. Are we putting ourselves at risk for radiation exposure or am I silly for questioning it?

If you like, however, you can stay up at night imagining horrible scenarios, or wonderful fantasies where your radioactive student mutates into something horrible or awesome with super powers to terrify or save the day.

They (the Japanese) have been through years of contamination from the two nukes that ended the war. No signs of zombies or "weird as all" mutants.

Come to think of it, the US tested far more nukes, of far bigger yields, on US soil.

If you live near Arizona, you might be at risk of irradiating the student!
