So what do you propose?

The MAJORITY of OWS has proposed NOTHING.

1/3rd of them think violence will help, by that I believe they mean revolution. And if you wanna talk about what produces more dictators than not, see the history of revolution world wide.

I honestly have never thought they were puppets of the Obama Administration, however it should be remembered that the best secrets are those that are right in front of you, so not sure I would just dismiss it so quickly. I also wouldn't compare them to the Nazi's or Communist Party by any means. To me the majority of the protestors more closely resemble the Socialist movement. They are all about equality for all and everyone lives the same etc etc etc. That's great if you don't ever want to have anything more for yourself then what is allowed.

The thing that I find the most humorous about this whole movement is that sure there hearts are in the right place and there are definite problems with the system. I just don't understand the concept that I am told the most. Great you want to cut out the inequality in the system, the rich getting richer while the middle class and poor get poorer. I am fine with that. I loathe the fact that I have been working my ass off for the last 10yrs and for the last 3 or 4 I haven't even gotten a cost of living increase where as the prices for stuff keeps going up. This is something I have definite problems with.

Do I believe that the rich should be punished for doing something more with there lives then I did? No not really I mean there are those that have been rich from birth and come from wealthy families that are more then likely assisted by the government to maintain there riches whether they be Republican or Democrat (It has always amazed me that we vote for people that are brought up to be politicians instead of I don't know voting for someone new? I mean you are aware we can write votes in right? I would love to see someone Joe Smith get elected. I see people gloating about Ron Paul, That Socilist Green Party guy that Nader, and even Ross Perot, btu the funny thing is. You are still electing in the same class of people. Rich people who's interests are always going to be self oriented regardless of what they say. Politicians lie by nature and that is something we would all do good to remember.

I see people saying they are excersing there rights in this Democracy and as I have seen pointed out before boasted as a Democracy or not the United States is a Federal Republic not a Democracy. Which means a lot of our "Freedoms" are more of a guise then they are a fact.

That being said I am not going to support a bunch of new age hippies that think they should get a free ride through life just because they don't feel like working. I hear there are no jobs and this is why they don't work, but I have to argue on that. In my town 90% of the jobless youth are jobless by choice and living on there parents or trust funds, so I have a lot of loss of sympathy and respect for them in the first place. I saw the perfect quote in a local paper by a protestor when they stated I should join the protest because of these 12 reasons, 1 of which was "We are protesting a Galaxy of issues" and this is probably the most accurate statement I have seen. There is no concisive protest with this group. If you took your car to the mechanic and said it's just broken fix it he would be in a very similiar situation as we as Americans and the government is in when it comes to deciphering the message being delivered by this group. I have heard everything from the death of Capatilism to fixing the economy, to free education for all, to lets eat grass and sleep under the sun.

Finally I have no problems with the protestors, but I do have problems with some of the things they are demanding. I do not believe that we should support these kids just because they are Americans. America was founded on the notion of everyone having the equal opportunity to make something out of themselves. Just because you dont' have any money doesn't mean you can't make something out of yourself. Look at all the entrepenuers out there that started themselves coming from a poor family. Probably the most famous of which is Bill Gates.

I personally believe it's the other way around.

With all the challenges made to republican seats by TP candidates in 2010 the republicans who wanted to keep their seats had to start playing ball with the TP. Not the other way around. I think if OWS followed a similar path it would get a lot more done.

Forgive me if I have this wrong... but didn't a good number of those who last time were elected under the auspices of the TP end up voting to renew/keep the Patriot Act?

..and that being the case, what's the point of voting TP candidates in if it's going to be 'same ole same ole' ?

Like I said, I may have this wrong, but I do recall a load of outrage when the vote on The Patriot Act was held.

Patriot Act upset vote: Can tea party lawmakers, liberals be friends?

Many liberals tag the tea party movement as nativist, potentially racist, and out of step with progressive ideals. But some found themselves giving a nod of approval to tea-party-affiliated members of Congress who voted Tuesday to nix parts of the Patriot Act on grounds that they let the government intrude too much on individual privacy in the name of national security.

Of course, not ALL TP elected candidates voted this way.

And don't forget...after the march

There is also a dance party from 8-11.

Ya, I couldn't help but chuckle at that one too!

I like the Occupy movement, but not for their breakdancing skills.

Sorry to burst your bubble:
How many videos have we seen presenting ows in a poor light: the replies are:

" thats only one whacko "you simply can't attribute that to the whole rigteous movement!!

so if 6 people under an ows banner protest the administration; it's another classic ATS PROOF! thread?
You're"trolling" right?

Its much more than 6 people my friend. Why can't we take this at face value instead of looking for an underlying. Obama connection?

O.p.was the one offering "Proof" contradicting a connection because "OWS Des Moine" was gonna stage a scheduled Obama protest....

I merely pointed out the incongruity in the arguments in every ows thread: I.E. the video crazy's /nutjobs though there; chanting in the flesh: do not represent the "ows"!

Only the faction (ows desmoine)"protesting Obama" can "legitimately claim to represent ows".

that's all: enjoy your drum circle...

What I was trying to say is that this local Occupy group is doing exactly what those people opposing such protests said they needed to do, instead of concentrating just on Wall St.

I don't know what that has to do with me or what I have said. If I am wrong, please set me straight.

What purpose does this comment serve? I have never been in a drum circle. Was this an attempt to call me some sort of "dirty hippy" without having the juevos to actually say it?

It is my opinion that it wouldn't matter what these protesters stood for or what actions they take, you are against it because it does not fall into your line of political ideology.
