Hopefully though we handing over 20 military bases and not waste any more money on Iraq anymore. I just hope no American forces in Iraq left when the year 2012 begins. Iraq was mess now due to insurgency and problem Iran would take it as a chance and turn it into an Islamic country and imposed human rights abuses.

So technically no military base in Iraq at all after we pull out by the end of this year.

our troops should have been home early either Bush have the post-invasion/peace plans than in 2012.

Remember when Dick Cheney said in 1994 that invading Iraq would lead to a quagmire when during a ceasefire in Iraq? Yet he's so keen on it after 9/11.

The State Dept will have 12 facilities in Iraq after 31 Dec 2011. The majority of them will be co-located with major airfields. I just got a job offer from the company responsible for their comms infrastructure. Still debating to take it or go home for good.

Obviously US forces will remain in Iraq. The whole point of the Iraq War was to secure oil assets. US presence will remain there, even if it's composed of mercinary armies with some military "advisors".

There's no way that the US will give up security around its superfortress embassy that they constructed.

And remember: Al-Sadr still has his militia forces on standby for when the country is vulnerable.
