All the reports I've seen so far have stated that he was found wounded, hiding in a concrete pipe (may have been a sewer) and put up no resistance when found. The first reports were that he was wounded in both legs.

An NTC fighter told the BBC he found Col Gaddafi hiding in a hole in Sirte, and the former leader begged him not to shoot. The fighter showed reporters a golden pistol he said he had taken from Col Gaddafi.

Arabic TV channels showed images of troops surrounding two large drainage pipes where the reporters said Col Gaddafi was found.

I guess now we'll just have to wait and see now if any resistance continues, though the death of Gaddafi is being described by most commentators I've heard so far as the end of the conflict.
