GM crops promote superweeds, food insecurity and pesticides, say NGOs

News Article with video - The Guardian

Genetic engineering has failed to increase the yield of any food crop but has vastly increased the use of chemicals and the growth of "superweeds", according to a report by 20 Indian, south-east Asian, African and Latin American food and conservation groups representing millions of people. The so-called miracle crops, which were first sold in the US about 20 years ago and which are now grown in 29 countries on about 1.5bn hectares (3.7bn acres) of land, have been billed as potential solutions to food crises, climate change and soil erosion, but the assessment finds that they have not lived up to their promises.

Good too see the MSM actually talking about the dangers of GM crops for a change.
I recently read an Australian news article calling for GM laws to be lifted to allow them to be farmed, which you can read here:
Business calls for end to ban on GM crops
Its fairly obvious to see in this article and most msm reports about GM that they are being paid to support the dangerous technology. With a happy photo and persuasive language this article fails to mention the dangers that GM would pose to a state that has so far resisted a lot of GM crops.
Oh well, not much you can do about helping the world when corporations like Monsanto call the shots.
"Profit before people" as they say.

Dangers of GM 1
Dangers of GM 2

please help boycott any GM products and corporations, they are putting the human species as a whole at risk.
take care people

that is a hard thing to boycott since they make pretty much everything whether you know it or not...

I cannot believe how bad it is getting with crops and food that we are even allowed by law to do any of the things they are doing with our food and how there are not laws that are very strict that all food must be 100% organic, why in the world would anyone want to allow any plants grown that are full of poisons is beyond... the people who make these laws have to eat the food too do they not care about their own health and the health of their families?

your right they have their hands in a lot of pies.. youd be suprised the amount of pesticide/fertilzers products they own, and most are not commercial.
were going to see it get a lot worse, there have been recent examples of monsanto using us law to force people in other nations to use their products..
its disgusting the way these companies capatilize on things that should not be corpratized. fact is it might happen tomorrow or in 10 years but soon we are going to see a mutated disease/pest that will wipe out humans or a big player in the food chain. statisticly one of the most probable ways that humans will become extinct is from the effects of GM.
well its fairly obvious most laws are irrelivant, id be happy to go to jail for breaking laws that are obviously paid for by huge corporations..
well id assume that most people who pass the laws understand the dangers, and not to mention the under the table millions that would probably make anyone forget about the negatives

Here's an interesting tid-bit from the past that feeds well into this conspiracy nightmare that remains strong and vibrant despite what it could mean for the people of this planet.

www.abovetopsecret.com...

I was called "alarmist."

its not hard to see the influence big corps play on almost everything these days.. im suprised people still think its alarmist.. i like to compare it to a game of monopoly, where one player has most of the money and 5 hotels on every street, not to mention they pick what comes up in community chest and chance. acquiring money is no different from a game, and we are being played big time.
i think you only need logic to know that it would be absurd to pass some of the monsanto laws if they wernt for the good of the corporation.
