Here is another backyard shot.
This was inspired by Benevolent Heretic's pics of Hummingbirds.
I think this one is called a Rufous.

Still taking pics with my phone unfortunately...all pics i have posted so far are from my phone.

In the process of finding and purchasing a reasonably priced digital camcorder with at least 10MP....hopefully, I'll have some nicer shots then

Until then, you'll have to put up with the crap!!

Hey thanks man

I have the Nokia N95 8gb phone.
It has a 5mp camera with carl zeiss optics....It' not bad.

The one i was looking at was either this www.comet.co.uk...

or this www.kikatek.com...

I'm on a budget (who isn't) so don't wanna go too mad.... what do you recommend?

Great pics blup, mines ca camphone too, my old one was N95 (original) heh, heh, and the one i use now is samsung omnia. Personally, I think the Nokia was best for the photos/videos, just did my head in - constantly telling me the memory was full, whuch it were;t, Nothing worse than seeing a billiant photo opportunity and having a camera thatdoesn't want to play ball.

Would love a Nikon 10 mp slr (single lens reflex)

yeah man...nice camera....but like £300-£500, can't afford that....yet!

I have the N95 8GB memory, so no chance of it being full

Oh you had a similar phone huh??

Now there's a surprise

Add it to the list

Let's hope so huh?
Anything would have to be better than a camera phone though?

I mean 5MP is ok....but not a lot of features on it, no real zoom...
I'm getting back into photography i think, and i need a better camera....so many beaautiful things around here to photograph... and my CAMPHONE!!! just doesn't cut it

Ha,ha you need to learn the art of making do and improvising.

This was taken with N95 with the bit out of a pair binoculars stuck to the camera lens, poor mans macro:

this one is just taken with the macro function on my Omnia camphone, as was the bee:

Click to see the whole pic.

Shhh dont tell everyone,
they'll all be taking binoculars to bits

Nice job.
A camera phone, and parts from a pair of binoculars.
Probably a steady hand as well?
Great results, jerry-rigged or not..

Loved that Hummimg bird pic. Saw a humming bird moth in the garden a few years back - didn't know what it was, didn't manage to take a pic - here's one from the net (JUST so you can see what i'm talking about):

NOT MY PIC!!!

We had thought it was a tiny hummingird at first.
