I've been having a lot of fun lately. The other day I started a series of underground photos and the first two photos here are from that.
( Click for B&W version)
I also found a new lens that I must have. It's an Opteka 650-1300mm telephoto that's $250. It's got fixed 8/16 aperture and isn't exactly
something you'd want to use for a nice fine art photo, but we get a lot of interesting aircraft flying over here and I like getting photos of
them—and 1300mm beats 200mm. I hope to get it sometime in the near future (I've seen quite a few reasonably good photos various people have taken
with it) and will post my results here upon doing so.

I took this photo during the brief time that I did astrophotography. I cut out the black around it and enhanced it a tad with photoshop to really
show the contrasts. I hope to get into astrophotography again someday when I live in the woods again.

humble beginings
My love for photgraphy started when I was about 12.
This was one of my first and favorite pictures.
We didn't own a cat, this was a stray, but she matched
and blended so well into our wood, I nearly didn't notice
her for the natural camoflauge. When I did, I had to
take a pic. It remains a sentimental favorite today.
edited b/c first images were HUGE

more recently
I can't say I've advanced in my knowledge
or skill, but I still love photography.
Mostly I love babies, kids, and nature-
anything from scenery to animals to insects.
This is the house my mother grew up in...
I visited it on vacation last July.
A gazillion years old, but
still in the family and beautiful
with butterfly garden.

these pics IRL are so beautiful,
so clear, and the colors so vivid...
maybe it's just MY monitor...
but I don't think so.

Now I wish I had taken more photos, but the weather was just awful most of the time, -32 degrees C wind chill according to one person.
Anyway, they were taken near Cairn Gorm mountain in Scotland:

Very cool apex, almost alien like landscape.

Thanks, it was quite nice in a way, but really tiring with every step seeming to slide backwards on ice or slippery snow.
Nice scenery, but again, I wish I had taken more pictures.
