Everybody thinks they can solve the problems with the country and the world. Here's your chance. Today, you have just been voted in to be the
dictator of the United States. You have 4 years, with absolute power. You can make changes to the Constitution, put people in prison, and make laws
to be followed once your term as Dictator in Chief is over. Normal elections will resume after your 4 year term. Now, what would you do? Here is
what I'd do.
Security Issues
1: I would immediately begin removing the military from around the globe, and bringing them back to U.S. soil.
2: Issue a statement to the Muslim world that if even one strand of hair is harmed on an American, Mecca will glow for 10,000 years. And I'd follow
through.
3: Place the military on the borders and lock this country down from invaders.
4: Have the Navy work hand-in-hand with the Coast Guard to secure the waterways from illegal immigration and drug trafficking. If people are caught
trying to sneak in, or sneak drugs in, tow their boat 100 miles off the coast and sink it...with them inside.
Economic Issues
1: Abolish the Federal Reserve and jail the SOB's that have been robbing the country.
2: Stop ALL foreign aid. Every penny!!!
3: Repeal NAFTA, CAFTA, and all other "free trade" agreements.
Corporate Issues and the Economy
This idea will not be limit on CEO pay as in "you can only make x amount". It is entirely based on performance, and recognizes the impact that the
workers have on the company. The CEO can make as much as he wants, but not at the expense of the economy or the employees.
1: Set executive salaries at a percentage of workers wages and the number of employees. For example, 40x what the standard worker earns at their
company. If a worker earns $100,000, the CEO's and executives would cap at $4,000,000 as the base, along with a multiplier based off the total number
of U.S. employees. If a company only employes 100 people, the "number of employees" multiplier would be less than a company that employs 1000, or
100,000 people. The more people you employ, the larger the number gets, and the larger the salary a CEO and executives can earn. They can make more,
but they will have to pay their employees more, or hire more employees. Everyone wins!
2: Bonuses and stock paid to executives would also have to be paid at the same ratio as salaries. So, if a CEO gets $4,000,000 bonus, the employee
making $100,000 would get a $100,000 bonus. Once again, everybody wins!
3: Jobs that can be done in the U.S. will be done in the U.S. or there will be a 2x tariff placed on the company for each position outsourced. For
example, if a $100,000 per year software engineer position is eliminated in the U.S. and moved to India and pays the Indian $20,000 per year, there
will be a $160,000 tariff placed on the company and its executives. They will pay for the benefits that engineer will be receiving. However,
positions that need to be overseas can be overseas without the tariff. For example, field engineering and other on-site customer support positions,
including sales/marketing.
4: In the event that a reduction in force is needed by a company, then whatever percentage the workforce is cut, the CEO and executives would take the
appropriate pay cut, not to be increased until the company can replace those jobs, and hires people in for those positions.
5: Employers caught employing illegal labor will be fined $100,000 per person for the first offense. After that, it will be 1 year in jail per person.
Mandatory, no plea bargains.
6: Legalize marijuana. Allow farmers to grow it (it doesn't have to be super weed for smoking). Allow the crops to be used for clothing, ethanol,
etc.
The Constitution
I would make the following changes/additions/deletions to the Constitution:
1: The 2nd Amendment. I would add to this stating that this is an individual right, and that local/state authorities cannot impede the individual's
right to own, possess, and transport a firearm, including concealed. I would also state that only those convicted of murder, rape, or assault would
be banned from owning a firearm. After 20 years from the convict's release, if the convict has not had anymore convictions, their 2nd Amendment right
would be restored, regardless of the crime (including murder). I know this won't be popular with a lot of people, but it may make more sense when you
read the "Justice and Crime" section below...
2: Rewrite the 4th Amendment, specifying that the Patriot Act provisions are illegal, and I would repeal the Patriot Act.
3: Rewrite the 14th Amendment, stating that for birthright citizenship to apply, at least 1 parent must be a citizen of the United States. No more
"anchor babies".
4: Repeal the part of the 17th Amendment that allowed the people to vote for their state Senators. This essentially gave up protections of the
states, and created 100 more "representatives", rather than State Senators. It undermines that branch of the government. Senators were supposed to
represent the states, not the people. We have the House of Representatives for that.
5: Repeal the 16th Amendment, eliminating income tax.
6: Add an Amendment stating English is the official language, and all government forms will be in English ONLY! This includes schools, unless it's a
foreign language class.
7: Require photo identification to vote.
8: With all parties "equal", end affirmative action. I don't like people telling me I'm not smart enough or good enough to get a job because of the
color of my skin!
Social Issues
1: Add an amendment stating that gays can marry, and have all the rights as any straight person.
2: Repeal Bill Clinton's executive order #13166.
3: Welfare would last no longer than 6 years for any one individual. During this time, the welfare would be paid to sustain rent/mortgage, and
provide an opportunity for the person to get a GED/diploma, and then attend college for training. After th 6 years are up, the person would then be
removed from welfare for a period of 15 years. If they fail to make it, they will have to rely on family and friends for their support.
4: Welfare recipients would not be allowed to procreate while on the government benefit. This would be controlled with something like Norplant. Men
on welfare would be jailed if they impregnate a woman while on welfare.
5: Those who receive welfare will be required to pay $50/month for 10 years, to offset the cost. Granted, this will NOT cover all the costs, but it
will be a deterrent to just go on there. These fees would be deducted from their paycheck similar to child support.
6: Deadbeat parents: Upon the 18th birthday of the child, the deadbeat would have a choice to pay the amount owed, or serve prison time. The prison
time would be a chain gang, cleaning highways.
