If you were a dictator, what would you do?

Everybody thinks they can solve the problems with the country and the world. Here's your chance. Today, you have just been voted in to be the dictator of the United States. You have 4 years, with absolute power. You can make changes to the Constitution, put people in prison, and make laws to be followed once your term as Dictator in Chief is over. Normal elections will resume after your 4 year term. Now, what would you do? Here is what I'd do.

Security Issues
1: I would immediately begin removing the military from around the globe, and bringing them back to U.S. soil.
2: Issue a statement to the Muslim world that if even one strand of hair is harmed on an American, Mecca will glow for 10,000 years. And I'd follow through.
3: Place the military on the borders and lock this country down from invaders.
4: Have the Navy work hand-in-hand with the Coast Guard to secure the waterways from illegal immigration and drug trafficking. If people are caught trying to sneak in, or sneak drugs in, tow their boat 100 miles off the coast and sink it...with them inside.

Economic Issues
1: Abolish the Federal Reserve and jail the SOB's that have been robbing the country.
2: Stop ALL foreign aid. Every penny!!!
3: Repeal NAFTA, CAFTA, and all other "free trade" agreements.

Corporate Issues and the Economy
This idea will not be limit on CEO pay as in "you can only make x amount". It is entirely based on performance, and recognizes the impact that the workers have on the company. The CEO can make as much as he wants, but not at the expense of the economy or the employees.
1: Set executive salaries at a percentage of workers wages and the number of employees. For example, 40x what the standard worker earns at their company. If a worker earns $100,000, the CEO's and executives would cap at $4,000,000 as the base, along with a multiplier based off the total number of U.S. employees. If a company only employes 100 people, the "number of employees" multiplier would be less than a company that employs 1000, or 100,000 people. The more people you employ, the larger the number gets, and the larger the salary a CEO and executives can earn. They can make more, but they will have to pay their employees more, or hire more employees. Everyone wins!
2: Bonuses and stock paid to executives would also have to be paid at the same ratio as salaries. So, if a CEO gets $4,000,000 bonus, the employee making $100,000 would get a $100,000 bonus. Once again, everybody wins!
3: Jobs that can be done in the U.S. will be done in the U.S. or there will be a 2x tariff placed on the company for each position outsourced. For example, if a $100,000 per year software engineer position is eliminated in the U.S. and moved to India and pays the Indian $20,000 per year, there will be a $160,000 tariff placed on the company and its executives. They will pay for the benefits that engineer will be receiving. However, positions that need to be overseas can be overseas without the tariff. For example, field engineering and other on-site customer support positions, including sales/marketing.
4: In the event that a reduction in force is needed by a company, then whatever percentage the workforce is cut, the CEO and executives would take the appropriate pay cut, not to be increased until the company can replace those jobs, and hires people in for those positions.
5: Employers caught employing illegal labor will be fined $100,000 per person for the first offense. After that, it will be 1 year in jail per person. Mandatory, no plea bargains.
6: Legalize marijuana. Allow farmers to grow it (it doesn't have to be super weed for smoking). Allow the crops to be used for clothing, ethanol, etc.

The Constitution
I would make the following changes/additions/deletions to the Constitution:
1: The 2nd Amendment. I would add to this stating that this is an individual right, and that local/state authorities cannot impede the individual's right to own, possess, and transport a firearm, including concealed. I would also state that only those convicted of murder, rape, or assault would be banned from owning a firearm. After 20 years from the convict's release, if the convict has not had anymore convictions, their 2nd Amendment right would be restored, regardless of the crime (including murder). I know this won't be popular with a lot of people, but it may make more sense when you read the "Justice and Crime" section below...
2: Rewrite the 4th Amendment, specifying that the Patriot Act provisions are illegal, and I would repeal the Patriot Act.
3: Rewrite the 14th Amendment, stating that for birthright citizenship to apply, at least 1 parent must be a citizen of the United States. No more "anchor babies".
4: Repeal the part of the 17th Amendment that allowed the people to vote for their state Senators. This essentially gave up protections of the states, and created 100 more "representatives", rather than State Senators. It undermines that branch of the government. Senators were supposed to represent the states, not the people. We have the House of Representatives for that.
5: Repeal the 16th Amendment, eliminating income tax.
6: Add an Amendment stating English is the official language, and all government forms will be in English ONLY! This includes schools, unless it's a foreign language class.
7: Require photo identification to vote.
8: With all parties "equal", end affirmative action. I don't like people telling me I'm not smart enough or good enough to get a job because of the color of my skin!

Social Issues
1: Add an amendment stating that gays can marry, and have all the rights as any straight person.
2: Repeal Bill Clinton's executive order #13166.
3: Welfare would last no longer than 6 years for any one individual. During this time, the welfare would be paid to sustain rent/mortgage, and provide an opportunity for the person to get a GED/diploma, and then attend college for training. After th 6 years are up, the person would then be removed from welfare for a period of 15 years. If they fail to make it, they will have to rely on family and friends for their support.
4: Welfare recipients would not be allowed to procreate while on the government benefit. This would be controlled with something like Norplant. Men on welfare would be jailed if they impregnate a woman while on welfare.
5: Those who receive welfare will be required to pay $50/month for 10 years, to offset the cost. Granted, this will NOT cover all the costs, but it will be a deterrent to just go on there. These fees would be deducted from their paycheck similar to child support.
6: Deadbeat parents: Upon the 18th birthday of the child, the deadbeat would have a choice to pay the amount owed, or serve prison time. The prison time would be a chain gang, cleaning highways.

Justice and Crime
1: End the war on drugs immediately. The resources would already be at the border to stem the amount coming in. Legalize marijuana.
2: If a person is deemed "okay" to be released, then ALL rights should be restored. Voting and the 2nd Amendment. If the person isn't "safe" to vote or own a gun, then they shouldn't be back on the street in the first place!!!!
3: Prosecutors and police that lead to the conviction of an innocent person will be forced to serve the same sentence that the innocent person served. If that is the death penalty, then so be it. Force the police and prosecutors to truly do their jobs and SOLVE crime. Don't just give us a body to prosecute.
4: Non-violent criminals will be put on chain gangs and will work and get an education/skill. They will clean up public highways, work the fire lines, and assist in cleanup after natural disasters at least 3 days a week. For each day worked, and additional day will be cut off of their sentence. The other days will be education days, where they will be taught to read and write if necessary and achieve a GED or diploma. They can also be taught skills working in a machine shop, auto shop, or whatever. Upon release they should have some type of skills to help them stay away from crime. If they repeat, they will only earn 1/2 day per day worked. The 3rd offense, 1/4 day, and after that, they earn on extra time off their sentence. Basically, if they are convicted a 4th time, they will serve the entire sentence, even if they work.
5: Violent offenders will be treated as they are today with a few exceptions. They will be put on low calorie diets, so they will not be able to bulk up. Executions of the truly guilty, those that cannot be rehabilitated, will increase. Remember change #3. The prosecutors and police will be staking their lives on the guilt of this individual. ONE appeals process can take place where ALL evidence will be allowed, on both sides. This will be reviewed by a jury and a 7 judge panel prior to execution.
6: Police will be subject to random drug testing, including steroids.
7: Street cameras cannot be used for revenue generation (tickets). They can only be used to help solve crimes, such as assault, rape, theft, etc.

Elections
1: Mail-in ballots will be eliminated (except for military personnel or people living abroad).
2: Electronic balloting will be eliminated. Paper only!
3: Standardized ballots across the nation. End the "hanging chad" crap.
4: All voters will be required to show valid photo identification to vote.
5: For churches to maintain tax exempt status, they will have to provide transportation to those who cannot make the polling station on their own.
6: Election days will be a MANDATORY day off of employment. For people working in healthcare, police, fire, etc., Each city/county will provide several "roving" ballot stations for these individuals to vote.
7: Active duty military will be allowed to vote early, in case they are deployed on election day. Those in submarines will have their votes tallied, and submitted. Each sub will post results openly, to avoid fraud.
8: People living overseas will be able to vote early as well, but will be charged a "convenience fee" for not being present in the U.S. on election day. If someone is overseas on business, their company would have to reimburse this fee to the employee. If they are living overseas by choice, then they will have to cover the fee.
9: Donations to an individual candidate will no longer be allowed. Donations can be sent to an "Election Fund", but all money will be divided among the top 5 candidates of each party. If a candidate is found to spend more than what the fund has provided, they will be eliminated from the ticket.
10: Caucuses will be eliminated and replaced with voting.
11: Voters should be able to pass the basic citizenship test that immigrants have to take. This can be done online, prior to the election. Failure would result in the voter not being able to vote.
12: Candidates whose party is caught rounding up people and paying them to vote will be removed from the ticket. Any votes cast for them will not count. Example: Driving around and grabbing homeless people, driving them to a polling stations, then having them vote a certain way in exchange for a meal is BRIBERY, and will not be allowed.
13: Churches/Mosques/Synagogues who openly promote a candidate will lose tax exempt status.
14: Primary elections will be conducted as normal, but a runoff election will be held between the top 2 candidates in the party.

Government
1: Lobbying will be banned. Politicians caught taking bribes will be automatically removed from their position and ineligible for future elections, plus will serve 1 year in jail...on the chain gang.
2: The federal government will be reminded that the Constitution is not there to limit THE PEOPLE, but is there to limit the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.
3: Make a stronger push with the 10th Amendment, relinquishing the rights and duties that the federal government has stolen from the states and giving it back to the states.
4: Make it law that if the federal government fails to do its job, the individual states can then impose laws to protect its citizens where the federal government fails (example: illegal immigration).
5: Redistricting at the state level will be done by non-partisan groups, based off of numbers alone, not off of which party or parties will benefit.
6: Since lobbying will be banned, the "corporate person-hood" clause can stay in effect, but a corporation will get ONE vote and ONE vote only...just like a person. This will go for unions as well. One vote per union. No money from either!!!

K-12 Education
1: Parents will be given an option where to spend the money for their student. If the parent wants to use it to offset private schooling, then that should be the parent's choice.
2: End the "no child left behind" law. This only drags higher performing students down to the least common denominator.
3: End standardized testing. Testing should be performed in the class room, by the teachers. Let the teachers teach how they know how to, not teach to a particular test.
4: Math, science, reading, writing, and history will be mandatory, every year. Students who do not perform need to be held back. Parents need to get off their asses and get tutoring for the student!!!
5: High school students should learn how to balance a check book, pay bills, and understand compound interest.
6: Students with learning disabilities will be taught at their speed, offline of the rest of the students.
7: Students that are more inclined to arts rather than engineering will be allowed to pursue that. However, the guidance counselor will be required to explain the long-term job prospects and financial impact that choice may have. The term "starving artist" came about for a reason.

Higher Education
1: Tuition should not increase at a rate faster than inflation.
2: Professors who push any particular political agenda will be fired, regardless of tenure. You're there to EDUCATE, not INDOCTRINATE.
3: Engineering related fields will be subsidized by corporations who claim there aren't enough people to do the work. If a company applies for a H1-B visa to fill a job, they will then subsidize a 4 year engineering degree for a student. Engineering is just an example. Whatever the company applies for the H1-B visa, they will subsidize someone for that position.
4: End racism in selections to colleges. Acceptance should be based on test scores and GPA, not on race.
5: End in-state tuition. Rather, open it up to where all students get the in-state price, if they are a citizen.
6: Subsidized tuition will require the student to work within the United States for 10 years after graduation. This will eliminate the Chinese from getting subsidized education, then returning to China after graduation.

Military and Space
1: Maintain military spending, or cut it back slightly. The military advances in technology become mainstream over time, and will help advance this country. End all the bloated bureaucracy though.
2: Allow "black projects", but do so with a specific budget. This can keep top secret technology funded, but the costs should NOT be hidden.
3: Bring the "space race" back to its glory days. We should be setting up bases on the moon, and looking to new technology in the process. Technology that can be used by the people in the near future. Allow NASA to make money off its patents with new discoveries.
4: Change the philosophy of the military to being "for the national DEFENSE" rather than being primarily a "forward presence" force.

That's about all I can think of off the top of my head. Shoot holes in it, praise it, whatever. It's merely my opinion on some issues, and how I think that this country could get back on track. I'm sure some people will agree with some of my ideas, and also despise some of my ideas. I apologize if some of my categorization is a bit out of whack, but I did my best at trying to keep things in order, but I'm sure I screwed something up. HA!

How long do you think it'll be before things are back to the way they were before your 4 year term? Things are the way they are because it was planned that way. I bet less than 20 years and 90% of the changes you make would be reverted.

In my best J. Jonah Jamison voice, of course...

I know this may sound a bit naive of me, but I have read the Green Book issued to every Libyan at birth. It has the legacy of a dictator that relinquished all his power to the people of that country. You would do well to look at its structure and completeness as a possible blueprint for any future political forum. It is geared to Muslim democratic socialism, but it can be tweaked to encompass a modern, civilized political structure.

I would kill all the very evil elements in society.

But I would not like this action.

It would be like giving antibiotics for the first time, it will help the first time.
It also will weaken the immune system of humanity.

And this is not the first time, our immune system is weakened already.

So do not make me your dictator

@If you were a dictator, what would you do?

1 is not dictator bred but some solutions:
reset credit of the entire nation. this will allow for more spending financing ect to help fuel the economy. yes its a lot of money but THEY GOT IT

2 make Medicare free for all

3 with all credits reset the banks can give reasonable loans to everyone on a fair level not good loans to good credit and bad to low credit people who cannot afford to make their dreams reality

4 pay the students who go to school about 1 dollar a hour those who's grades are observed rising add more. this will reinstall the education level in the country overall because those students who skip class will have something to think about on the days they are not present. If they are not present and grades low then lower pay grade but do not cut it or they will go back to their old ways and not attend and cause the followers to follow their lead causing ripple effect in education system again lower grads overall country edu. level low. SO PAY THEM. this money can be returned or taxed when they find employment it wont be for the same amounts when they were in school but it will be a tax to pay the next generation.

MAKE ALL schools in country exist on same teaching level from poor neighborhoods to rich SAME SCHOOL BOOKS AND TEACHINGS--EDUCATION IS IMPORTANT TO RUN THE COUNTRY AND INSTALL THE INFLUENCES YOU WOULD WANT THE FUTURE ADULTS TO HAVE IN THEM WHEN THEY ENTER INTERNATIONAL REALM OF THINGS.

5 Fix the jails so they are not just a place to learn how to be a smooth criminal. Make all the jails crime specific so if you kill you will be housed with only killers if you steal you will only be housed with thieves ect. this inturn can allow for proper treatments of these inmates so they can re enter the population as positive effectors and not negatives. Also it will stop the influences the killers have on those who entered as robbers but exit as robber killers ect.

6 Assist the world = with the other global govs don't take the national position that the country is responsible for other countries issues. BUT @ THE SAME TIME INVEST WITH THE OTHER GLOBAL GOVS IN A SECURITY SYSTEM THAT IS GLOBAL THAT WILL GO TO ANY REGION ON EARTH AND FIX THE ISSUE - ISSUES LIKE WARLORD INFLUENCE ON THE POOR / HUMBLE AND FEMALE BECAUSE THERE ARE STILL FEMALE OPPRESSING LOCATIONS. THAT WAY THERE ARE NO WARS JUST ISSUES THAT THE ENTIRE GLOB FIXES. THIS WILL ALSO CREATE MANY JOBS THAT MAY OFFER INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCES A THIS FORCE IS GLOBAL NOT JUST ONE NATIONS SO NO MORE FINGER POINTING AND HATE AT 1 SPECIFIC NATION.

7 RESCAN ALL WHO ARE IN PROTECT AND SERVE POSITIONS MENTALLY TO SEE IF THEY ARE REALLY THERE TO PROTECT OR TO RELIVE THEIR PAST ISSUES WHY PROJECTING IGNORANCE ON OTHERS.. LIKE YOU JOINED POLICE FORCE BECAUSE YOU WERE BULLIED AS YOUTH AND SEEK EASY POWER POSITION. THIS WILL HELP TO KEEP ONLY THOSE WHO CARRY A CERTAIN COMPASSION TO INTERACT WITH THE PUBLIC. EVENTUALLY ELIMINATING THE FTP OR DON'T TRUST THEM FEELINGS FELT WITHIN VARIOUS NEIGHBORHOODS.

8 Create a revive the homeless plan that really gets those homeless back into society working generating taxes.

This will allow the Earth to set global standards and examples.

NAMASTE*******

Nay I Say!

Abolish it!!! Outlaw it and yes that would require a constitutional ammendment.

Here are my changes.

Military-related

1. Close down all bases.
2. Create one joint (air force, navy and army) mega-base in the middle of the North-Atlantic/South Atlantic ocean, North-Pacific/South Pacific ocean, and Indian ocean. These bases are modelled and structured after off-shore drilling platforms. All in all we would have 7 bases worldwide. They would be considerably bigger than existing ones though.
3. Always drastically update all hardware with the latest. And throw away the old ones. Not through years but immediately.

Social-related

1. Make it illegal to write laws that infringe on freedoms of Americans.
2. Free healthcare, free education for everyone. The country is maintained with money we get from exporting products "made in America". I bet you haven't heard that one for a while... Which brings me to my next point.
3. Bring all businesses out of China and into the US.

In my humble opinion if the government can't raise the needed cash for it through taxation and bond issues and other means then it's too big hence the benefit of that is it can only maintain a certain size.

The problem with credit is giving power to someone else and we in turn become a slave if we keep Credit it will repeat all over agian and those countries without creditors like china seem to be doing very well aren't they?
