Noticed a new trend in U.S. mainstream news (MSM) stations lately??

Yes, as Ron Paul's MoneyBomb / Stop The Media Blackout raised over $800,000 in less than 12 hours people in the MSM are getting more scared than ever!

Paul has been ignored in the media, (ATS: Ron Paul Media Blackout Confirmed)

He's been making great headway in the polls and is making a big name for himself at the grassroots level! People KNOW who Ron Paul is and some of what he stands for even though our media is ignoring, misrepresenting, and suppressing him.

So what's the latest trick?

rename the guy!

Seen it a few times but here's one example today on Bloomberg.com:

That’s why U.S. Representative Ron Paul, the libertarian seeking the Republican presidential nomination

emphasis added

Expect to see this A LOT in the next few weeks. It's actually a good selling point to discredit the American media if you choose. Plenty of people have changed parties. Ron Paul is smart and experienced enough to recognize Libertarians don't have a snowball's chance in hell of becoming President - our masses are thoroughly brainwashed against that one - so he changed parties. Smart choice Congressman Paul!

ETA: Why would this type of thing be employed by the media?
Because we all know that someone in the "in group" is more liked and favored than someone in the "out group", just basic Psychology. Renaming him as the Libertarian running for Republican... is an attempt to make him appear as an outsider and less desireable Psychologically.

They did the same thing with Dennis Kucinich with the whole UFO thing and Ralph Nader with the whole 2000 cost Gore the election thing. Now they are doing it to Ron Paul which is quite predictable. Anyone that speaks the truth and wants to tackle the real issues without simply spitting out rhetoric with little substance will be vilified.

This has been and will be done a lot.

If he is labeled as a libertarian, people who wish to vote only Republican will 'sweep' right over his name and not take notice of what he is doing or what he really stands for.

They, the MSM, have tried just about everything they know to discredit Ron Paul, and I agree that they are flabbergasted that none of their tactics are being effective. My personal favorite was that "Ron Paul Supports the Iran Nuclear Program!!!" This is just getting ridiculous, and the MSM are shooting themselves in the foot.

However, in my opinion, they still have the upper hand. There are still not enough people that know about Ron Paul and what he stands for, so their tactics still have a chance of being effective, IF they can hit on the right one. They very well may be in uncharted territory, I am not certain though, as their tactics usually work relatively well on the masses.

I am not sure they have ever gone this far in their disinformation campaign without much success, so we will have to wait and see. The best thing we can do is let everyone we know, know that the MSM are a bunch of lying scum, and that the pretty woman in front of the camera is not only a cutthroat you know what, but also just reading from the prompts that were given to her.

The media is NOT your friend, no matter how charming they can be on-camera.

I'm for him 100% but honestly the enormous changes we'll see is a little staggering to think about! Talk about waking up the masses

Is he not a libertarian? Not exactly a lie now, he?

What if a socialist was running for the democratic party? Would that not be even worse given 50 years of mcarthyism?

I agree msm is against america, but still we have to call them out on actual lies rather than exaggerate perceived bs.

in my opinion libertarianism is the original republican platform

remember once upon a time republicans and dems weren`t so far apart
complexes(military for example) changed alot of that, or should I just say money & thirst for power
