College Student Credited With Uncovering Possible Election Fraud in Indiana's 2008 Primary

Shocking election fraud allegations have stained a state's 2008 presidential primary - and it took a college student to uncover them.

"This fraud was obvious, far-reaching and appeared to be systemic," 22-year-old Ryan Nees told Fox News, referring to evidence he uncovered while researching electoral petitions from the 2008 Democratic Party primary in Indiana.

Nees’ investigation centered on the petitions that put then-senators Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton on the ballot. As many as 150 of the names and signatures, it is alleged, were faked. So many, in fact, that the numbers raise questions about whether Obama’s campaign had enough legitimate signatures to qualify for a spot on the ballot.

"What seems to have happened is that a variety of people in northern Indiana knew that this fraud occurred, and actively participated and perpetuated the fraud, and did so on behalf of two presidential campaigns," according to Nees.

Prosecutors are now investigating. The scandal has already led to the sudden resignation Monday night of Butch Morgan, chairman of the St. Joseph County Democratic Party. He denied any wrongdoing, saying he looks “forward to an investigation that will exonerate me."

Sorry I did a search and didnt find anything with this / similar title. If you got it first post the link and Ill ask the mods to lock this one down.

As far as the out of jurisdiction that confused me as well. The way the article made it sound, the FEC has jurisdiction on any issue related to elections, except this one. I cant see it being politicall motivated since the elections are right around the corner, and if they got caught trying to cover it up / pass it off as nothing ,its going to backfire in their face - provided its true and provided the number of ballots does indeed drop Obama below the required amount.

This should be interesting.

Specifically this -

Why resign? Maybe to avoid dragging this issue into the next election for Dems in that area (trying to seperate the fraud issue with the reelection campaign).

No need. This is a good thread, as it brings out the story of how it was found. I would just like it to gain some attention either way.

Im curious if this might be the tip of the iceberg on this topic. Everything else that was the norm (wallstreet / bankers / global domination / etc etc etc) is coming under increasing pressure across the globe.

Weve all heard those conspiracy theories on how the World would go through a dramatic change in 2012. Im wondering if its going to be the destruction of the status quo, ushering in cooperation and research over domination and secrecy.

You make some good points.. I dont see this being covered up being media is picking the story up. Of course that doesnt mean it wont be buried on page 25 below the fold. Also, in this one instance, since FoxNews has the story, and knowing their history with the Obama administration, I dont see them doing anything to help them out.

Also, I was rereading the article and the posts and I think I figured out why the FEC is not involved. This technically was not an election. The manner in which Obamas name appeared on the ballots is whats being looked at, which would be a state issue since they states prescribe the manner a name will appear on the ballot.

If the investigation is confirmed and verified, then I can see the FCC being involved since now your looking at potential fraud in order to win a presidential election.

Definitely something to keep an eye on. As with the threads on the Iranian assasination, the timing of this seems goofy as well, coming out this close to the next election cycle. If it werent for the fact its a student who found it, I think the legitimacy of the article and investigation would have been called into question, downplayed and possibly buried, written off as nothing more than sore loosers from the last election willing to do anything to win this time around.

Props to the student who caught this..

If anyone is from that area, keep an eye on the media for us since its bound to make more frequent coverage in the area than at the state level.

I don't expect any action to be taken.

The Bush elections were fixed.

No action was taken.

The Obama birth certificate has been proven to be a fake.

No action has been taken.

It seems that US politicians can get away with murder.

Oh, excuse me, they ARE getting away with murder!

Then why do we allow it?

Its not like we are chained in the basement, unable to act.

150? You guys are freaking out about 150 alleged fraudulent votes, while republicans disenfranchised tens of thousands of voters in 2000 and 2004 (and probably 2008 as well)???

Oh, and didn't Obama get over 60% of the votes in the election? It's kind of hard to claim that he didn't get votes when the majority of Americans voted for him.

Uhm, I think you misread the article. We arent talking about 150 votes. What the artcle is about is the number of signatures that are required in order to get a name on the ballot in Indiana to run for president. If requires a certain amount of verified signatures. What this college student discovered was fraud with reagrds to the signatures submitted to get Obamas name on the ballot.

The situation it creates is problematic if there arent enough signatures. That would mean Obamas name should have never been placed on the ballot, which could have been significant enough where he may have lost the election.

The DNC chair for Indianan denied the allegations and shortly afterwards resigned from his position. The FEC was notified, who declined to investigate, refering the matter back to the State to investigate, which they are doing.( in addition the checking the signatures of the Mccain campaign).

With that being said you should try to get over the stupid tit for tat blame game. Fraudulent signatures in Indiana has nothing to do with Bush and attempting to draw a parallel is a joke based on political loyalties and nothing else.

At some point our Gvoernment, as well as people with your mindset, need to get with the picture that the past is the past and nothing is ever going to change it. Blaming Bush / Republicans is a lame excuse, especially since they have been out of power for almsot 4 years now. Guess what - Bush is not President anymore, which means Obama has had the last 4 years to fix things.

The blame game doesnt work anymore unless you are arguing that while Bush messed things up, Obama has made it worse.

Whether its 150 signatures or 1.5 million signatures, it needs to be investigated and resolved. The goal is to seek the truth, egardless of whther or not you like what that truth may be.,
