Article: Elevated levels of radiation found in a residential area of Tokyo are almost certainly not connected to the stricken Fukushima nuclear plant, say officials.

The reading, taken on a small area of pavement in Setagaya ward, had fuelled fears about the possible effects of radiation from the plant.

But Japan's science minister said the radiation had been traced to material stored in the basement of a house.

Local residents had been told the radiation was no threat to health.

The hotspot was detected at height of about one metre above the pavement, after Setagaya residents who had been monitoring radiation levels alerted the authorities.

The ward is more than 200km (124 miles) from the Fukushima nuclear plant, which was damaged by an earthquake and tsunami in March, so the discovery led to fears that radiation from the damaged plant had spread further than previously thought and at higher levels.

"I've been measuring radiation levels throughout the metropolitan Tokyo areas, but I have never seen such a high level of radiation [as] I found here," one member of a nuclear action group told reporters.

This has to be a joke, right? i mean how can this hotspot not be linked to fukushima when it gave out a little less Radiation than Chernobyl, this is undoubtedly proof that the Media lie about the severity of events,

Thoughts?

How much radiation and what was the isotope, thats the only way to tell if it passes the smell test.

They were bottles containing Caesium, apparently.
In the last few months we have had two similar cases make the news in Slovakia. On both occasions, the polce announced that the radiation was coming from dumped rubbish.
Obviously.
i mean, when you go to sort your trash there's space in the plastics, paper, and glass containers but the radioactive waste and biohazards one is always overflowing...
Pull the other one. It;s got Strontium bells on it.
It does amaze me, though, how the viweing public so easily accept such an explanation as to why their local playground is humming and glowing green.

OP it's very simple what's going on here.

They're simply desperately stalling for time.

Everyone in Tokyo will either die, or eventually be evacuated. Once that happens, Japan as a country is as good as lost.

With absolutely NOTHING going on to stop the reaction at Fukushima even today, this is not a question of if, but a statement that it WILL come to pass.

Furthermore, the rest of the world is also being irradiated every single day. Fukushima radiation has already long ago circled the globe, and continues to do so even now.

RADIATION WATCH 2011

The total number of days between Friday, March 11, 2011 and Saturday, December 9, 2011 is 274 days.

[color=Cyan]The radiation poisoning of we, the people, our children, pets, food, water and our land
has continued unabated - 24/7/365
[color=Chartreuse]
- for 8 months, 29 days ... which is:

• 23,673,600 seconds
• 394,560 minutes
• 6,576 hours
• 39 weeks (rounded down)

One again, are we any closer to a solution to the Fukushima multiple melt-throughs disaster/fiasco spewing life-altering clouds of radiation 24/7/365?

Just Back from Chernobyl: Mutations not seen anywhere else in world —Much greater frequency of mutations in contaminated areas - "Directly proportional" to radiation

This video certainly pounds another nail in the nuclear energy coffin.

Mutant "life" is not quality living.

The truth is everywhere.

Will it really take another Chernobyl or Fukushima to motivate enough people to
turn the tide?

We sincerely hope not and will continue onward through the fog, bat signal lighting the way, hoping others will see it and respond. The obstacles that stand in the way, other than outright stupidity and MSM duplicity, seem to be apathy and ignorance, both of which can be overcome with education leading to understanding and enlightenment.

What is there not to understand?

Just the uneconomic nature of nuclear power is a huge reason for society to quit flirting with more nuclear power, never mind the catastrophic record and certainty of more to come.

Somehow the evidence and true track record of dozens of accidents and perhaps 300,000
to nearly 1,000,000 deaths from just Chernobyl, are brushed aside by corporate media
and most governments.

As the world awaits the inevitable hydrovolcanic explosion, one wonders if there are any plans in place by our EPA/USGOV for protecting we, the people, our children, water, the food in the fields, our pets, life in general after the unthinkable happens.

To be perfectly clear, we are sick and tired of the blatant attempts of the MSM (and others) to misrepresent reality in order to deliberately distort viewer and listener perceptions.

Even if our information sounds repetitious, people are forgetful. They need to be informed.

Such information, hopefully, will help raise people's awareness about the issue of radiation and its negative impact on life on our fragile Planet Earth.

What say you?

Hey thanks for the info ...nuclear power is a subject that is one to stir up all kinds of bad images ...I recently came across this site atomicinsights.com... ed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+AtomicInsights+%28Atomic+Insights%29 The video is worth watching – there is a lot more information than can actually be squeezed into five minutes, so the headline of this post is actually a bit of a tease. after watching and learning a bit more I could see this form of nuclear energy worth pursuing ...I mean to say ,you don't have to throw the baby [ nuclear ] out with the bath water ...but yea the present type has evil written all over it ...peace
