If only half of what you said was true, we wouldn't need to worry about numbers and this whole effort would reach and bust right past the
tipping point for change by the end of the month. You're forgetting the long night hours of bitter cold in a wind just strong enough to rob
warmth.....or the constant underlying threat of police action at EVERY location which isn't on private property AND protected politically.
I know it's hard to imagine for most what being in a homeless population without the structure and enforcement framework of the shelter systems is,
but lemmie tell ya, it isn't the easy time it sounds like. It's manageable, but party is about the last word that comes to mind as I'd imagine
other overnight occupiers would agree here.
Even sleep is a challenge as that many people living in that close of quarters has some form of drama happening nearly 24/7.
If folks don't like how things look come down and join a GA to suggest changes. Anyone right off the street is welcome and can participate. That is
an interesting proposition in a place like Zuccotti park for a number of reasons...but most aren't pseudo cities with a population exceeding many
American towns.
In general, please join and be part of the solution rather than standing on the sidewalk having great laughs as part of the problem.
