Occupy Wall Street protesters said yesterday that packs of brazen crooks within their ranks have been robbing their fellow demonstrators blind, making off with pricey cameras, phones and laptops -- and even a hefty bundle of donated cash and food.

“Stealing is our biggest problem at the moment,” said Nan Terrie, 18, a kitchen and legal-team volunteer from Fort Lauderdale.

Hey it's not stealing it's redistribution of your wealth you know what your trying to do to Wall Street.

“I had my Mac stolen -- that was like $5,500. Every night, something else is gone. Last night, our entire [kitchen] budget for the day was stolen, so the first thing I had to do was . . . get the message out to our supporters that we needed food!”

www.nypost.com...

Correct me if I'm wrong here thought they were all "poor" people?

So how can anyone afford a $5,500 computer and all those other pricey gadgets?

I laughed when I read this people giving them a taste of their own medicine and hey turns out they don't like it so much when the shoe is on the other foot.

As I've said previously that they could afford those items because they had a job that most lost through no fault of their own. Why throw away a flawless running laptop just because you lost your job.

Security is however paramount as there is a long standing agreement that states that anyone caught stealing something is to be immediately turned over to police no questions asked as that is definitively a spirit killer and a declared threat to the group. If someone conversing with the group becomes hostile they will be asked to leave.

Here's a thought why let someone steal anything when their are hundreds of cops less than 10 feet away from them?

No wait i remember they hate the police.

All bunch of hypocrits.

Ahh the vulgar redistribution of goods
They should at least feel good that the redistributed goods and money went to those who really needed them. Human nature rears it's head

Yeah but that's not FAIR redistribution! Bwahahaha...

It doesn't matter that THEY worked hard for, or earned those fancy laptops and cameras...just ask any of them! Oh wait...It doesn't matter if YOU worked hard for etc...that must be the difference...

From what I've read, they had people guarding the kitchen fund, but were beat from cooking all day. Maybe they need to set up a tiny little treasury. They have a guy that's head of security.
They are setting up a Little America.
This can actually turn out to be a great experiment, until they get occupied by 12 year olds on Huffy bikes.

Exactly.. I'm sure it's organised gangs and opportunist criminals... not just the random protester or teacher or military guy who's stealing.

More disinfo.... more BS propaganda...

More crap...

Why oh why can't people get behind a movement.... literally the movement that people have been crying out for for years... not only on ATS but all over,

"yes... let's rise up... lets tell these crooks what we feel"

Er...... HELLO..... now is your chance.

Quit bitching and DO SOMETHING.

Come on Neo, I sometimes will agree with the things you say(though you tend to be a little to conservative for my taste) but this is ridiculous. You shouldn't be wishing theft and harm on you're fellow man. Not to mention the OWS isn't a socialist movement, its against corruption form the banks, government, and corporation as far as I know. As much as it pains me to say this as its the standard liberal rhetoric. Turn off fox news and actually go to an OWS movement and see what their about you're self.

Remember when they tried to label the Tea party as racist? There doing the same by using the dirty word socialism, which isn't a bad thing by the way, its just a system that doesn't work. Look like I said go check it out for yourself, if your still not convinced, then I understand.

Don't let your bias consume you.

Not at all...People have lost their savings because of the banks, literally all their money, their 401k.... their jobs, their houses, all of it.

And all because people decided to gamble with their money in some kind of Ponzi or Pyramid scheme.

You can put down these people all you want, these people who represent every profession, class and pay salary... do it, people seem to enjoy mocking and ridiculing others who are trying to do good, who are speaking out and trying to inspire change.

Make you feel good does it? A big man?

Good for you.

I agree with your sentiments my friend, this IS the movement people should be backing. Unfortunately our society has many elements including, a feral underclass who will happily steal the milk from your coffee given half the chance

Then you have the right-wing, then all the x-factor/american idol/tabloid newspaper readers, these people are the worst because they are addicts to comfort, pain and repetition

Then you have the corporations, they own everything and seem all powerful. These elements are a barrier for any kind of positivity or change

I wish the other 99% well, I like these people, the wall street branch seem particularly hardcore

Redistribution of wealth? the people you seem to be defending are the ones that pulled of the largest shift of wealth and financial theft in the history of the world.
I see the protests as angry people from across the political spectrum but who all detest corruption, the revolving door of big business, banks and government.

It's to be expected since they are doing this in Downtown districts.
That sucks though.
