Earlier on Tuesday Russian Kommersant daily reported that Russia was preparing to offer the United States and NATO a draft project for the joint defense system that would protect the Earth from asteroids and other threats from space.

Wait a minute, "Other threats from space", like in a Alien-threat from space?
Carol Rosin: "first there will be terrorism, after that asteroids will be used for fearmongering and the final card will be an invasion from space."
I'm still convinced that there is a lot of truth to what she said back in 2001.

Finally something that benefits humanity!

I doubt they are doing it for humanity...more likely they want the technology.

What better way to get it then pretending it's for the benefit of all.

Agree other threats id a dead give away, Carol wouldnt lie of course.
But Ive always wondered why wernher did not go public in
more certain terms unless he was truly scared about some threat to
himself and his family.

But I would think that the russins have already a defense system of their own in place

I think these other threats from outer space is MERVs from ICBMs he is talking about without coming right out and saying it is a missile shield.
