Getting Flak for Adopting an American Staffordshire Terrier!

14 weeks old, from the animal shelter. The shelter new the owners of the puppies. But I am also getting flak for it. I have a 9 year old daughter. Everything I have read about this breed points to a natural instinct to love humans. Some people have already told me,' You're gonna regret it', etc. I know pitbulls have bad names, but much of it is media hype. It's how the dog is raised. and socialization is a key factor. Some people believe these dogs are inherently evil, and will rip your face off first chance they get.

Anyone ever own a pitbull or AmStaff, and could share some experiences?
