A satellite, plus coincidence, seems highly probable to me.
Iridium Flares off the Iridium communications satellites can be very bright compared to other satellites and if travelling in a West to East
trajectory will have that burnt orange sunset color because the satellite is reflecting the 'sunset' you would see if you were at it's altitude.
After falling into the Earth's shadow shortly after going through it's own sunset, it fades out, disappears, leaving you with an eye-witness account
of a completely silent bright light in the sky that suddenly disappeared.
Sound familiar?
There are a number of resources online that can help you to track satellites so you can better predict their appearance if you'd like to look, seek
out another satellite and confirm if the satellite you know for sure is a satellite behaves similar to what you saw.
Note, due to all the fun complicated stuff that goes on with orbital mechanics, combined with velocity, your viewing location, time of day, or night,
angle of the sun's reflection off the solar panels on the satellite, and other things, even if you managed to catch the very same exact satellite, it
probably would not look the same. Thus, the next one you see may be even more brilliant, or just a meh, so-so moving light in the sky.
